Ethanol- the type of alcohol that is used in

beverages Fermentation- is the chemical action of yeast

and sugar Distillation- Distillation is a commonly used method for

purifying liquids and separating mixtures of liquids into their individual components.

Proof- An alcohol-water mixture or a beverage containing a standard amount of alcohol, the U.S. standard being 100 proof, or 50 percent, of ethyl alcohol by volume at 60°F

EFFECTS ON THE BODY1-2 drinks- blurred vision,

depth perception is lost.¾ of a second for us to react.1.5 seconds for impaired 3-4 drinks- slurred speech. LegallyIntoxicated.5-6 drinks- Alcohol has no taste and it’s like water. You have lost count. No memory.7-8 drinks- Loss of consciousness. Vomitting, headaches.10 + drinks – Life threatening. Alcohol poisoning high.

Depressant- Depressants are substances which

slow down the normal function of the central nervous system. 

Inhibitions-a feeling that makes one self-conscious and unable to act in a relaxed and natural way

Reflexes-is an involuntary (say: in-VAHL-un-ter-ee), or automatic, action that your body does in response to something

Temperature-the regulation of heat and cooling. Fluids- Depending on the type of alcohol beer, wine

or vodka.
