and�CeramicsAbout�the�ConferenceThe Department of Applied Physics, V.N.I.T., Nagpur in
association with the Materials Research Society of India
(MRSI)-Subject Group: Ceramics and Glasses
(including building materials) and MRSI, Mumbai
Chapter will be organizing a “National Conference on
Functional Glasses / Glass-Ceramics and Ceramics”
(NCFGC) during December 10-12, 2015 at VNIT,
Nagpur. Invited talks, contributed papers along with
industrial participation will form the broad basis of this
conference. Since there are research and development
efforts going on in various laboratories, institutions and
industries in the country on functional glasses/glass-
ceramics and advanced ceramics, a large number of
participants from all over India are expected to attend
this conference. The NCFGC will provide a platform for
researchers, technologists and industry to share their
experience / expertise related to the scientifically and
technologically important area.

Call��for�Papers�Scientists and researchers are requested to send one
page abstract of their paper within the scope of the
conference by email to: [email protected] in
MS word. The abstract should be typed within an area of
150 mm x 220 mm of an A4 size paper, in single spacing
with Times New Roman 12- pt and should include the
title of the paper, names of the authors with full affiliation
and e-mail id of the presenting author. All the selected
contributed papers will be presented in oral and poster
sessions. Selected best papers will be given award.
Publication of the proceedings of the presented papers
after review is being explored through publisher.

Souvenir�&�ExhibitionA souvenir containing the technical program, abstracts
of invited talks, contributed papers and various event
information of MRSI and other sponsoring bodies, would
be published on this occasion. An exhibition shall be
arranged for displaying products and equipments.

About�VNITVisvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur
is one of the thirty National Institutes of Technology in
the country. Earlier, the Institute was known as
Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE).
It was established in the year 1960. The Govt. of India
conferred on the Institute, the Deemed to be University
thstatus on 26 June 2002. Subsequently, the Central
Govt. by Act of Parliament declared VNIT Nagpur as an
Institute of National Importance along with all other NITs thon 15 Aug. 2007. It is very well connected by air, rail and
road and known as orange city of the country.
About��MRSIMaterials Research Society of India (MRSI) is an
interdisciplinary professional body dedicated for the
growth of indigenous research and development in the
area of materials science and engineering and its
applications. It stimulates accelerated research and
development activities in a wide range of materials and
their application through its Subject Groups. One of the
subject groups is “Ceramics and Glasses including
Building Materials”. Subject Group activities are
assisted by the Chapters depending on the location of
the event and this time MRSI Mumbai-Chapter is
associated for this event.
