2. PROBLEM
There are a number of problems regarding women education, empowerment and entrepreneurship in India, researchers have identified issues relating to social aspects, economic life, skill problems, problems of family support, courage etc. Of many some of the most concerning is skill shortage and financial degree of freedom. In Indian families, the degree of financial freedom for women is very poor, especially in lower educated families and rural families. In these families women can’t take any entrepreneurial decision without the consideration of the family members as well as considering social ethics and traditions.
Due to the financial dependency, a woman can’t start any business or any economic activity to become independent. Therefore, this has become a vicious circle of dependency for women in India. And in certain mishaps like disease, death of sole bread earner (male) they have to go through the all haggles of life mostly unprepared which leaves them prone to exploitation by other members of society and business.
Jyoti social has initiated programs to educate, develop skills, train on various front to earn own livelihood. Witnessing the visible change in the economic condition of various challenged families team Jyoti Social is planning to expand and reach to more and more women and their families every day.
.

5. METHODOLOGY
1. For illiterate women The training process is arduous and takes lot of patience where we educate families first on importance of taking up vocational training through small seminars, Panchayat and Jan Sikhshan Sansthan’s. When women are willing to subscribe and their family is ready to pay nominal fee they are admitted to courses of their interest. Mostly women in this category belong to below poverty line families and Jyoti center sponsors them:
a) Counting and basic Math’s: Addition and subtraction is taught as this is required for measurement in tailoring. A proper decapitation of knowledge is done with the help of scales, inch tapes and counting exercises
b) Training based on course: A proper demonstration of various techniques is given by
the instructor in batches and participants are provided with the required materials to learn. (Clothes, Papers, Chalks, Paints etc.). Sometimes when the family can bear the expense of training material they procure at their own and come to training center.
2. For literate:
a) Training based on Practical Handbook
Training based on Practical Handbook, participants/students are allowed to make their own record based on one of the master book which has designs, graphs and measurements.
b) Training based on course: A proper demonstration of various techniques is given by the instructor in batches and participants are provided with the required materials to learn. (Clothes, Papers, Chalks, Paints etc.). Sometimes when the family can bear the expense of training material they procure at their own and come to training center.

7. EVALUATION
Response: We received full support with enthusiasm from the society and the project is successfully running. Initially Team Jyoti social had tough time in convincing families to enroll women’s to courses but gradually with seminars and support from local govt. bodies’ team has been able to reach many citizens in the rural areas of northern Bihar (East Champaran).
Effective, efficient and equitable use of financial and other resources: As the whole project is conducted on self-funded model along with funds generated by nominal fee from families who can afford. Readymade garments are also stitched and this provides employment to at least 5 women at the center.
Recognition of actual changes and progress is appreciable.
Success factors: The participation has gone several folds up within few years and many women have
started their own small knitting/tailoring, handicraft setups at their homes.
Need for improvement or where expected outcomes are unrealistic: Funding is lacking. If properly funded Team Jyoti social can educated, impart skills and educate more and more no of women in other districts and parts of country.
Validation for project staff and partners that desired outcomes are being achieved: Till date we meet all our desired results with a small team
