Report on National Technology Day Celebration at SAC

National Technology Day - 2018 was celebrated at VSSE-SAC on 16th

May, 2018. The

theme of the Day was “Science & Technology for Sustainable Future”. The event was

inaugurated by Shri Tapan Misra, Director, SAC in presence of Associate Director, Deputy

Directors, SMC Members and other functionaries. The dignitaries were greeted by invited

children of CISF personnel.

Director, SAC delivered an inspiring speech in a very simple language to the students. The

inauguration concluded by releasing of colourful balloons by Director, SAC and specially

invited children of CISF personnel. The inauguration was covered by Air & Print media and the

PRESS was also separately briefed by Director, SAC.

During the day, several events were organized and a total 987 persons visited the

space exhibition. Amongst various visitors, the prominent were the students of various

engineering colleges like Ahmedabad institute of technology, LDRP, M. M. Patel college,

Gandhinagar; DA-IICT, Silver Oak College of Engineering & Technology, Navjivan Arts and

Commerce College, Om Institute of Technology, Sheth P.T. Arts & commerce college,

Students group from Dahod. These students actively participated in-house competitions. The

students delivered presentations in teams and the best presentations were awarded as well.

During Spot Quiz event, there were many prize winners amongst the general public. The

visitors showed great interest and enthusiastically interacted during open house sessions with

senior scientists of ISRO. Several questions on Space Science and Technologies were

answered by these scientists. Overall, the events during the day were very exuberating,

motivating and enlightening for the students.

There was also a lecture arranged by an Eminent Speaker, Dr. Anil Gupta Professor, DAIICT,

on the topic “Disruptive Technologies: Tighten Your Seatbelt”. The in-house staff found this

lecture very interesting and informative. The lecture was followed by question answer session.

Without the dedicated support of volunteers from various areas, the celebrations wouldn’t have

been a grand success.

We are highly thankful for the dedicated contributions from the staff members of VSSE, DECU,

CMG, Canteen, Transport, PRO, CISF, Library, Horticulture Department, Accounts and RACF

for photography. We are also thankful to all who directly or indirectly contributed to the success

of this event. Thank you.
