Each year, colleges around the country honor new college students who are entering a technical fi eld through National Technical Letter of

Intent Signing Day. The event mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletes who commit to play sports in college. This is the third

year of Signing Day at South Central College, which offers a wide variety of technical career and professional programs with more than 100

degree, diploma and certifi cate options. All students considering starting one of these programs in Fall 2018 are encouraged to participate

in 2018 Signing Day!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND • High school counselors, school district superintendents, and civic and business leaders are invited to be in the audience to

show their support.• Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate this milestone with their Signing Day participants.

• A large delegation of South Central College faculty and staff will also be there to welcome participants to the college.

• Those unable to attend in person can visit www.southcentral.edu/signingday and watch the Live Stream starting at Noon.

LETTER OF INTENT During the ceremony, participants will sign a letter of intent indicating that South Central College will hold a place for them in the program

of their choice to start Fall 2018. Signing a letter of intent does not necessarily commit them to enroll at South Central College. Instead, it

signifi es their intention to learn more about their program, and if they choose to enroll, to complete the program.

$50,000 IN SIGNING DAY SCHOLARSHIPS TO BE AWARDED!

• SCC Foundation Scholarship: Thanks to the generosity of contributors, Signing Day participants will have the opportunity to receive an

SCC Foundation scholarship. • Minnesota Workforce Development Scholarship: In 2017, the Minnesota legislature designated funds for students pursuing

college programs in the following high demand career areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Healthcare Services, and

Information Technology. Sixteen $2,500 scholarships will be awarded.

STEPS FOR PARTICIPANTS TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP AND PARTICIPATE IN SIGNING DAY

1. Apply to South Central College at www.southcentral.edu/apply by February 1, 2018.

2. Complete the scholarship application at www.southcentral.edu/scholarships by February 1, 2018.

3. Register to participate in Signing Day at www.southcentral.edu/signingday by February 1, 2018.

4. Attend Signing Day on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Remember: Check in at 11 am.
