Notice
Department of Chemistry, University of Gour Banga, Malda - 732103 is going to
organize one day National Symposium on 12th March 2016. The title of the
Symposium is “National Symposium in Chemical Science”.
The aim of the symposium is to bring the chemical communities on a common
platform for exchange their knowledge and experiences. Students as well as faculty
members of Gour Banga University and the surrounding Universities/Institute/
Colleges will get excellent opportunity to interact with resource persons renowned in
the field of chemical science. The speakers will share their expertise view in the
different aspects of chemistry education and research. Researchers may present their
work in the form of poster in the aforesaid programme.
In this context, the organizing committee solicits from the interested participants to
register their name within 10th March 2016. Duly filled up registration form (as
attached) may be send to the Convener by E-mail or by regular post.
Registration Fees:
For Faculties: Rs. 500/-
Research Scholars: 300/-
PG Students: 50/-

About Department of Chemistry, UGB, Malda
University of Gour Banga, Malda, Established under WB Act XXVI of 2007and at present 18 PG departments are running within a neat and clean 30Acores of land in the Malda Town, a northern part of west Bengal. Collegesof three district of West Bengal (Malda, Uttar Dinazpur and SouthDinazpur) are affiliated to the university. The Department of Chemistry,UGB at present offering M. Sc. and PhD programme. Its journey wasstarted on 12th Jan 2012 with initial intake of twenty students. At present,6 faculty members, 80 PG students and 7 research scholars are at thedepartment. We have smart classroom and computer laboratories withhigh speed internet facility. There are lecture courses in the general areasof inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, plus many more specializedcourses. The Chemistry Library has an excellent collection of books,journals, and reference materials. So far, 10 students have been qualifiedNET/GATE and other prestigious fellowship and actively engaged in theresearch in various institutes. At present two DST sponsored researchproject is going on at the department. Our mission is to span our researchactivities in the frontier area of Chemical science and education. Our aim isto provide quality education through competitive yet inspiringenvironment for developing their careers.

Instructions for abstract submission: 1. All abstracts must be submitted in English, in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), in single page (page size: Letter 11”×8.5”, margin: top, bottom and right side 1”, left side 1.3”). 2. The title of the abstract should be in CAPITAL LETTERS, 14-point, Times New Roman font, single spaced, centered. 3. Author name(s) must be typed in 11-point, Times New Roman font, and should be centered on the page. All names must be in the format of “First name Middle name Last name”. The name of the presenting author should be underlined, and the name(s) of corresponding author(s) should be indicated by an asterisk*. 4. Full address must be typed in italics, E-mail address of the corresponding author(s) should be provided (11-point, Times New Roman font, single spaced, centered) 5. Text of the abstract should be in 12-point, Times New Roman font, single spaced and justified. Figure(s) may be included (if necessary) within the stipulated area. 6. The abstract must contain original research material, has not been published or presented at any other conference. 7.
