NATIONAL LIVESTOCK IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

Camp draft, rodeo and show committees must ensure their ground or arena is registered with DPI&F and has a Property Identification Code (PIC). Where a ground or arena does not have a PIC, contact your local stock inspector to obtain the necessary registration forms and a PIC.

COMMITTEES

Please do not hesitate to contact the NRA Office if you require any assistance with the organisation of your rodeo.

The NRA Office are readily available to help you with obtaining your arena officials, planning of your events and program, and any other queries you may have to make your rodeo run as smoothly as possible with less work for your committee.

If you have any issues relating to Public Liability Insurance or your rodeo promotion, please don’t hesitate to contact the NRA office as we will only be too happy to assist you.

IMPORTANT RULES Juniors:

1. These rules include All Juniors holding an UPGRADED Open membership competing in BOTH Junior and Open events during the current Rodeo season.

2. If you turn 18 YEARS OF AGE during the current Rodeo season you Must STILL ABIDE BY THE Junior rules when competing in junior events.

3. Juniors competing in open events must have an upgraded Open Membership or Day Membership as junior membership only entitles you to compete in junior and novice events.

4. All juniors (including Day Members) must have suitable proof of age available on the day, should there be a need for verification.

5. All Junior Competitors must wear an approved skullcap as per Australian Standards in Open and Junior Events. All helmets must be properly fitted with chin strap fastened at all times once mounted. Chute Boss and or Officials may request to inspect helmets.

Junior/Novice Competitors:

All Novice and Junior rough stock competitors must wear protective equipment such as a Full-face helmet and approved properly fitted protective VEST. If this request is not met, you will not be granted the ride and your stock will be turned out.

Dress Code:

a) All rodeo personnel competing and officiating at a rodeo must be in full western dress one (1) hour prior to the rodeo commencing or when they enter the rodeo grounds. Western attire consists of a hat, boots, jeans of western pants and a long sleeve western shirt with sleeves buttoned down and a collar. All attire must be worn in a neat and tidy manner. The rule applies to competitors, chute boss, announcers, pick-up teams, judges, time keepers, central entries personnel, stock contractors and their assistants. Clowns may wear runners. Sleeves may be rolled up on riding hand in Rough Stock Events.

b) Should an appointed Director or Official deem a competitor to be wearing unsuitable attire, the competitor may be called from the arena: - • Instructed to change attire • Fined • Disqualified for non-compliance in either (i) or (ii).

NRA RODEO CATEGORIES ALL ROUND CHAMPIONSHIP RODEO • Must include a minimum of all 8 Standard Events with a minimum

prize money of $500 per event • Full points are awarded for individual titles and All Round titles

POINTS AWARD RODEO • Must include a minimum of 3 Standard Events with minimum prize

money of $500 per event • Half points are awarded for individual titles only

BULL RIDE • Must include a minimum of a Bull Ride, Novice Bull Ride and Junior Bull

with minimum prize money of $1500, $350 and $200 respectively. • Half points are awarded to individual event titles only

JUNIOR RODEO • Must include the following events

Under 8 – Barrel Race and Dummy Roping Under 12 – Barrel Race, Dummy Roping, Breakaway Roping, Pole Bending and Poddy Ride Under 16 – Barrel Race, Pole Bending, Calf Tying, Breakaway Roping and Boys Steer Ride Under 18 – Bull Ride, Saddle Ride, Bareback Ride, Chute Dogging, Team Roping, Rope & Tie, Barrel Race, Pole Bending and Breakaway Roping

NOTICE FOR JUNIOR MEMBERS & PARENTS

Following several reported incidents, a motion was carried at the full Board Meeting that any under-age junior member found guilty of consuming alcohol in the licenced bar area at

an NRA affiliated rodeo will face a minimum 10 rodeo suspension. The objects of our association include

“promoting the sport to a national recognised standard” and “assisting committees in promoting professional

rodeos”. This reported behaviour is detrimental to achieving those objectives and will not be tolerated.

JUNIOR COMPETITORS ALL JUNIOR MEMBERS COMPETING MUST WEAR A

HELMENT FASTENED TIGHTLY IN ALL EVENTS.

EVEN AFTER 18 YEARS OF AGE AND COMPETING IN JUNIOR EVENTS TILL THE END OF THE YEAR YOU ARE

STILL REQUIRED TO WEAR A HELMET.

ROOKIE AND NOVICE

Rookie Competition

For all events, a competitor may compete in either Novice or Open competition until total recorded points in that event have reached 1000 however only points won in the open competition will count towards a Rookie Title, or breaking Rookie status and HAVE not won a title in that event with any other Association.

1. A Rookie is a competitor from their first two (2) years of open competition.

2. A competitor has until they reach 1000 recorded points in an open event to nominate for an event Rookie Title. The year in which a competitor reaches 1000 points is the competitor’s final rookie year for that event.

3. All Rookie competitors must advice Head Office in writing by completing a Rookie Nomination Form. This is to be done by 30th June each year.

4. A competitor may only win one Rookie title per event. Rookie Break Open

1. Wins a title. 2. Accrues 1000 Novice points in an event. 3. Completes second year of membership. 4. (In all the above the member will then be deemed to be an open

competitor only.)

Novice Competition

A Novice competitor is also eligible to compete in open competition until such time as novice and open points reach 1000. All novice and junior rough stock competitors must wear protective equipment such as a helmet and vest. (Novice Points do not appear in standings on the website or in Newsletter. All enquiries regarding Novice Points should be directed to the NRA Office). Only monies won at NRA affiliated points awarded rodeos count towards breaking novice status. Novice points awarded is accumulated for the lifetime of the member. Junior competitors may continue to compete in Novice events until either turn 18 years of age or win an open event.

LATE ENTRIES - CANCELLATIONS A $25 LATE ENTRY FEE WILL APPLY AS OF 1ST MARCH, 2017

Late Entries: • All late entries will be accepted up to 12 noon Monday

preceding the rodeo unless stated on the website, Facebook or in the newsletter.

• Any committee not accepting late entries must notify NRA office by the last advertised entry date.

• All late entries will be automatically accompanied by a fine.

Cancellations: • Any cancellations prior to 12 noon Monday will not

incur a fee. • Cancellations Monday 12 noon to Thursday 12 noon

preceding the rodeo unless otherwise stated incur a payment of committee levy plus $5 with or without Doctors/Vet’s certificate.

• Cancellations after Thursday 12 noon to Thursday 9pm incur full entry fee unless a Doctor’s/Vet’s certificate is supplied.

• Cancellations after 9pm Thursday preceding the rodeo and draw will incur full payment of entry fee unless a Doctor’s/Vet’s certificate is supplied. A committee levy and administration fee will be paid.

OUTSTANDING MONEY &

ENTERING RODEOS

If you owe money and told when entering that it must be paid before 12pm the Monday prior to the Rodeo, then you must do so. We have been reminding those with outstanding money of required payment but there are instances where this has been ignored.

Therefore, in future if you owe money, notified about required payment and you do not pay on time you will be cancelled out of the draw and will not be re-entered. If you pay outstanding owing’s by direct deposit, please notify the NRA Office on (07) 5495 8668 as payments are not displayed in the account immediately.

It is your own responsibility to make sure we are aware of these payments.

This also applies with all other Associations. Any competitor with outstanding money with other Associations will not be able to nominate until all owing’s are cleared. Also, any competitor with outstanding money with NRA will be unable to nominate with other Associations until these owing’s are cleared.

• Saturday 1st July 2017 • Pre-performance 1PM - 3PM • Main Event 4PM - 8:30PM • Venue will be secured from 6AM Saturday morning, no unauthorised access. • Event times must be adhered too. • Pack up can commence from the conclusion of the rodeo.

• Need quote on all infrastructure, stock, chute boss, judges, timekeepers, bullfighters, pick up men

• Price required for all components, no individual components accepted. • Chutes built and barrel course marked no later than 3pm Friday 30th June 2017. • Must comply with MBRC PPE, Safety requirements and Contractor Inductions. • Must comply with NLIS and current Bio-Security QLD requirements.
