REPORT ON ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION FOR GRADE-5 TO 8
National Public School, Kengeri, celebrated its Annual Day ‘Spandan’ –
SAGA OF SANSKRUTI SOURABHA for students of Grade-5 to 8 with
unprecedented fanfare on 17th December 2019 at Bunt’s Sangha
Auditorium, Vijayanagar, Bengaluru. The entire venue was decorated
elegantly. A grand stage had been set up with professional sound system.
Mr. Rishi, the sandalwood actor and Mrs. Shylaja Somanna, the President of
Sri V. Somanna Prathishtana were the invited chief guests. Students of
Grade-11 Monisha, Janani and Thaqiya hosted the entire programme and
welcomed the chief guests and other dignitaries.
Mrs. Geeta Dikshit, the Principal read the annual report of the school. She
made the audience aware of the school’s achievements in academics and co-
curricular arenas.
Addressing on the occasion Mr. Rishi, the sandalwood actor, lauded and
praised the school for raising the educational standard in the city and urged
people to first believe and love themselves.
The stage took on hues enhancing the mood of every excitement. The entire
school participated wholeheartedly towards the success of this grand event.
There was festive atmosphere all around and parents were visibly excited to
watch their children’s performance. Our Annual Day was a celebration of
culture, art, creativity and talent. In the exuberant atmosphere, one could
see the skills and talent of the young students being showcased with
aplomb. The celebration proved to be a platform for the students to come
together & show their inherent talents. The venue reverberated with
thunderous applause; gleaming faces exchanged appreciative nods as the
audience witnessed the perfection and extravaganza of the show. The
theatre play also had musical elements to bring symphony and melody into
life. The ambience was complimented with the mind-blowing lighting and
sound which was a visual treat to the audience who left the venue
spellbound. The exhilarating show was an unforgettable experience and left
a lasting impression on the minds of everyone present. The talented
students presented mesmerizing cultural event, the folk dances of
Karnataka (the Dollukunitha, Poojakunitha, Kolata, Kamsale, Yakshagana,
Karavalikunitha, Hulivesha and so on…) blending with Theatre plays, and
folk songs.
At the end Master Vidit of Grade-11 thanked the chief-guest, dignitaries,
and parents for having spared their time to attend the function; he also
thanked his fellow friends, teachers, and the Principal for organizing the
function successfully. Thus, the programme had upheld the fading tradition
of folklore.
