National Plan for Food Security and Poverty Reduction This is a thought exercise. Please take time to think through this question, take notes and come prepared to speak on the issues. There will be an informal discussion but you will be expected to have a clear plan in your own mind. You are the Minister of Agriculture of a low middle-income country. The object of the exercise is to develop a national plan to improve food (and nutrition) security and achieve significant poverty reduction. You must decide on the priority outputs and activities that you think will be both doable and effective. You must decide on the priorities also in context of competing ministries such as health and industry. You will have a national budget and access to donor funds (bilateral, multi-national, World Bank, etc.) that you will need to attract with your plan.
