The National Institute of Transport is inviting applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission into various courses for 2012/2013 academic year. (A) POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES

First degree or Advanced Diploma in any field of study from a recognized institution, or Full professional qualification in any field of study such as CPA, CPSP, MCILT, MCIM and MCIPS, etc.Applicants with equivalent qualifications such as Managers at Supervisory Level or above in the aviation related organization with work experience of not less than three years

First degree or Advanced Diploma in any field of study from a recognized institution, or Applicants with equivalent qualification e.g. 2nd class nautical science, 2nd class Marine Engineers, CILT, ABMA, PSP etc.

Post Graduate Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management (PGDTTM) 1 year First degree or Advanced Diploma in any field from a recognized institution, or Applicants with

Post Graduate Diploma in Shipping and Port Management (PGDSPM) 1 year

First degree or Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution, orApplicants with equivalent qualification e.g. 2nd class nautical science (deck officer), 2nd class marine engineers, CILT, ABMA etc.

Post Graduate Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management (PGDPLM) 1 year

First degree or Advanced Diploma from a recognized institution ,orPossess a full professional qualification in any field of study e.g. CPA, CPSP, MCILT, MCIM, MCIPS etc.

Deadline for Post Graduate Diploma Programmes Application is 30th April, 2012 and all Post Graduate Diploma Programmes will begin on 14th May, 2012.

(B) MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMME COURSE UNDER OPEN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIAThe National Institute of Transport in collaboration with the Open University of Tanzania offers the following programme which will lead to Masters Degree award offered by Open University of Tanzania;

Master of Business Administration - Logistics and Transport Management (MBA-LTM) 2 years

First or second class honors first degree or

First Degree with a GPA of 2.5 and above, or

Applicants with recognized professional qualifications e.g. CPA, CSP, ACCA, etc. obtained through sitting formal examinations, may be considered for admission, if they have in addition: A pass in ACSEE or its equivalent OR Relevant working experience of not less than 2 years after graduation or

Applicants with Advanced Diploma in a relevant field with at least upper second class. Lower classes will be considered if applicants hold a postgraduate diploma in a relevant field and have work experience in respective industry of at least two years.

i) Executive programme

(C) HOW TO APPLY:The following applicants will apply through Central Admission System (CAS) coordinated by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU). Application through CAS will start from 1st

April, 2012 to 30th April; 2012. More information will be available at TCU website: www.tcu.go.tz

All form six, FTC (NTA Level 6) and those who completed their Diploma in Teacher Education more than two years ago (2009 or before)(a)

All form six, FTC (NTA Level 6) and those who completed their Diploma in Teacher Education two years ago and later (2010 - 2012) (b)

The following applicants will apply directly to the National Institute of Transport (NIT) Graduate of Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) recognized by NACTEi) Degree holders intending to join other degree programmeii) Form six leavers who have attended one year certificate course which is recognized by NACTEiii)

All applicants who wish to join Post Graduate Diploma courses and CILT evening priv) ogrammes.

(D) NIGHT COLLEGE COURSES:All Certificate and Diploma courses under NACTE are also offered in the evening program starting from 5.00pm -9.00 pm, Monday to Friday for those who have no time to study during day time. Examination for evening programmes are done together with examination for full time programmes and arranged from any time between 9.00 am and 7.00 pm. Night College students are required to set aside enough time for examinations which are scheduled from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm as no changes will be entertained on time examination. CILT courses and Post Graduate programmes are also conducted on evening sessions from 5.00pm - 9.00 pm from Monday to Sunday.

Application forms can be collected from NIT Campus or downloaded from the Institute website www.nit.ac.tz.
