Meeting Procedures •Event preview emails are sent a few days before a general meeting.

• Please review the information prior to coming to the meeting. Have an idea of which projects you’d like to sign up for.

•At meetings, events will be discussed and sign ups will take place.

Meeting Procedures Cont.

• Members will be dismissed by table to either sign up for projects or leave to go home.

• Form a single file line. If you fail to do so, you will be told to go to the end of the line.

• There is not a giant rush. Our meetings tend to go very quickly and you will have plenty of time to sign up for projects.

Reminders – NHS Member Responsibilities • Show up late to an event = 1 hour docked

• Don’t show up to an event that you reserved = Probation• 2nd Offense = Removal

• Unexcused absence from meeting = Probation• 2nd Offense = Removal• - lots of probation notices sent out because many missed orientation

Reminders• Appropriate dress is required for events: Closed toe shoes, shorts or pants, appropriate shirt.• Please follow school dress code.• Sometimes an event will specify what colors to wear.

•Sign In & Sign Out: At events, you must sign in and out with a board member in order to receive credit!

• If you do not sign in or out, your hours will not be documented. There are no exceptions to this.

• Sometimes, an event may specify that you use a signature sheet. This means you will be responsible for documenting your own hours with one of our forms. Example: Soup kitchen or food bank

Requirements

•Junior Inductees – Minimum of 5 hours by end of 2nd semester to maintain membership.

•Senior Inductees – Minimum of 7 hours by end of April. Seniors given priority.

•Of course, you can do more! End of year, we celebrate members who are “top volunteers.”

Important Note:• There will not be a shortage of events. As long as you attend meetings or follow up, you will be fine.

• Space out your volunteering. Do not wait until last minute, but at the same time, don’t feel like you have to participate each month, unless you want to of course!

• You will have plenty of opportunities to fulfill your hour requirement as long as you don’t procrastinate.

• Any volunteering that exceeds the minimum requirement this year will count toward your total as a senior. Feel free to go above and beyond!

That being said…• If you must drop out of a volunteering project and need to secure a replacement or want to pick up shifts – try the Facebook group.• Add yourself: Search Palm Harbor University High School National Honor Society

• Replacements must both email [email protected] to legitimize and confirm the switch.

• All meeting minutes, volunteer lists, and special announcements will also be sent out on the FB page and NHS website link from phuhs.org in addition to your emails.

Post meeting• Within the next 48 hours we will send out a detailed volunteer list with all dates, times, locations, and special instructions for each project, along with who signed up for them.

• In this document will also be links to any required paperwork you must submit for certain projects.

• If there are any vacancies, you can request to fill the spot by sending an email to [email protected].
