A Conference on “Sustainable Computing and

Communication for Development” was jointly

organized by, The Department of Information

Technology, Computer Science and Engineering and

Electronics and Telecommunication and Master of

Computer Application, Prof. Ram Meghe Institute of

Technology and Research Badnera in association with

Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE),

Institution of Engineers (IEI) and Co-Sponsored by

International Journal of Scientific & Engineering

Research, France (IJSER) .

Papers were invited from the researchers,

academicians, working professionals and R&D

organizations on current topics, new trends, latest

developments and emerging technologies in the areas

such as Computing, Communication and Networking.

Conference was inaugurated on 12th Feb 2016 at the

hands of Chief Guest Hon. Kiran Gitte, District

Magistrate, Collector Amravati and President of the

function Hon. Dr. Nitin Dhande Chairman of Vidarbha

Youth Welfare Society Amravati and the auspicious

presence of Management team of VYWS.

The convener of the conference Dr. S.M.

Deshmukh deliberated on the objectives of the

conference. Dr. N.W Kale, Principal and Chairman of

Conference had given information about the institute and

explained motivation behind the conference. He gave best

wishes to all participants.

About 190 papers received from participant from

all over India, after peer review 133 papers were selected

for presentation. We were fortunate to have 90 reviewers

across the India. They helped towards the improvement

of quality of papers presented in the conference. In these

two days we got 7 sessions and which is judged by 14

eminent session chairs from academics and industry.

1. Two Day Workshop on Computer

Networking

A computer network or data network is a

telecommunications network which allows computers to

exchange data. In computer networks, networked

computing devices exchange data with each other using a

data link. The connections between nodes are established

using either cable media or wireless media. The best-

known computer network is the Internet. Looking at the

need of the Computer Networking, the Department of

Information Technology, Prof. Ram Meghe Institute of

Technology and Research Badnera has organized two

days’ Workshop on “Computer Networking” on 19th

March & 20th March 2016.

The Workshop was inaugurated on 19th March at 9.30 am

at Department of Information Technology. Total 45

participants enrolled for the course from the third year.

The main objective of the workshop was providing the

hands on practice to the students in Computer

Networking. The resource person for the course was Mr.

Neeraj Kumar, Network Design & Support Engineer,

Azure Skynet.

Looking at the needs of industry the department organized

“One Day Workshop Cum Hands on Training on "PHP &

MySql” on 3rd October 2015 & 4th January 2016. Total 41

participants were enrolled for the workshop from the Final

Year Section A & B. The main objective of the workshop

was to provide exposure of PHP & MySql to the students.

The resource person for the workshop was Prof. Shailesh

P. Thakare and Prof. Ms. Rachana N. Sawade, Assistant

Professor at Department of Information Technology,

2. One Day Workshop Cum Hands on

Training on "PHP & MySql” PHP is a general-purpose server-side scripting language

originally designed for Web development to produce

dynamic Web pages. It is one of the first developed

server-side scripting languages to be embedded into an

HTML source document rather than calling an external

file to process data. MySQL is the world's most used open

source relational database management system (RDBMS)

that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a

number of databases.

3. Spoken Tutorial Workshop on Scilab, Adv.

CPP, Python The Spoken Tutorial project is the initiative of the

‘Talk to a Teacher’ activity of the National Mission on

Education through Information and Communication

Technology (ICT), launched by the Ministry of Human

Resources and Development, Government of India.

Department of Information Technology arranged one day

workshop on SCILAB for Faculty of various departments

of PRMIT&R. Total 55 Faculty enrolled for the

workshop, Workshop was conducted on31st Dec-2015 in

2 session.

Industrial visit was organized for the final year students

from 29th Dec. 2015 to 6th Jan. 2016. The motive was to

provide the students with a right blend of theoretical

learning and an opportunity to witness how those concepts

are utilized in the practical environment. The training and

visit was an excellent opportunity for the student to

comprehend the practices and culture prevalent in

industry.

Overwhelming and enthusiastic response was

received from the students. In all 48 students enrolled

their names for Industrial Tour. Dr. V. M. Deshmukh,

deputed 4 staff members to accompany students during

the visit. The Staff deputed were Prof. Ms. M. S.

Deshmukh, Prof. Ms. N. V. Kadam, Prof. N. S. Wadhe,

and Prof. A. S. Mahalle. The Journey started on 29th Dec.

2015 form Badnera to Delhi by Train and then from Delhi

to Manali, Shimla, Chandigarh, industries by Bus.

The communication with Industries like Fujitusu

Pvt. Ltd. (Delhi), IT Sutras (Delhi), Web Astral Pvt. Ltd.

(Mohali), Webcomm System Pvt. Ltd. (Chandigarh) was

done well in advance.

HR person from the various industries introduced

about the respective company history, working domain,

platform, their products and opportunities for the students

provided by them. This helped the student to understand

the working domain and platform present in industry to

build their carrier. The information provided and other

facilities were right and spot on. The industrial visit was a

success in every aspect from being beneficial to the

student in terms of gaining knowledge to being an event

of college-outing as well. Overall the response of the

participants was really positive and enthusiastic. In brief

the visit was very fruitful as the students were exposed to

a real campus environment with the state of the art

facilities.

In the session 2015-16 department has provided two

companies for internship to third year students.

1. Etkin Technologies conducted the industry

internship drive on 23rd December 2015. Selection

procedure included the 1 hour online test on basic

aptitude and C, C++ followed by Technical and

personal interview. Total 111 students appeared for the

test and from both rounds total 33 students selected for

internship program of 3 months which includes

training and development of industrial project. Finally

25 students completed their industry internship

projects successfully.

2. I-Base Technologies a software development firm

combines research activity with practical applications in

programming, web development & integration,

multimedia development, custom IT systems design,

testing and consulting.

Selection Process: Selection drive was conducted by

company on 30th January 2016 .selection was based on

technical online test on C-language and technical

interview on JAVA, HTML and OOPS concepts. Industry

internship program contain total 6 months training and

real time project development. Total 60 students appeared

for selection process and 22 students were selected. Out

of those 10 students are doing their industrial training and

projects.
