Aim of the workshop

• To bring collective experience together to learn from one another about what we mean by community engagement and, using discussion exercises as prompts, share how to conduct community engagement effectively, and;

• To learn about the tools and frameworks available to support the planning, recording and evaluation of community engagement by using some of the key stages

Planning a strategic approach to engagement

already have on the area and what do we need to find out? Where would we locate our information? Flip chart.

• Who is ‘the community’ and who are the key stakeholders? List potential agency and community stakeholders.

• What barriers might some of the stakeholders face and how might we address them? Flip chart.
