National Cleanliness Campaign under “Swachh Bharat Mission” from 25 th September, 2015 to 31 st March, 2016 Interim Report on the activities organized during the theme-based ‘Sardar Patel United Clean India Drive’ from 11-10-2015 to 17-10-2015. Sl. No. Activities undertaken during the period from 11-10-2015 to 17-10-2015 1. The ‘Sardar Patel United Clean India Drive’ has been launched on this Railway from 11-10-2015 to 31-10-2015 and focus is on Railway stations and trains. 2. In Asansol Division, special cleanliness drive was conducted on 14-10-2015 under supervision of Sr.DMO (H&FW) at Asansol Station. SM/Asansol took active part in this drive. Special cleanliness drive was again conducted at Madhupur Railway Station on 17-10-2015 all Supervisors participated in this drive. ACMS/Madhupur monitored the drive. Time selected was from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM so that maximum number of passengers can take home the cleanliness message. The Bharat Scouts & Guides conducted Cleanliness drive at Vivekananda Park, Durand Colony. A special cleanliness drive was also conducted on 18-10-2015 at Jasidih Railway Station. SM/JSME and all Supervisors participated in the drive. The drive was conducted at all the platforms, waiting hall, circulating area etc. 3. In Malda Division, the following work were undertaken – Train No 13429/30 (Malda- ANV Weekly Exp) has been covered under departmental OBHS services from 16.10.2015. Now all Divisional Trains i.e. 08 Nos. are covered under the OBHS as per ambit of Railway Board. Bio toilet Awareness Leaflets were distributed to Green Train Passengers (13429/30 & 13414/15) of Malda Division. Swachhata Sandesh leaflets have been distributed with linen packets to passengers for awareness on cleanliness. In 07 nos. AC coaches at Malda and 09 nos. AC coaches at BGP AC coaching depots all the Electrical fittings including power control panel cleaned properly. 97 nos. AC ceiling fans in PF area at different location under Sr.SE(E)/G/MLDT and 111Nos. AC ceiling fans in PF area at different location under Sr.SE(E)/G/BGP has been cleaned properly. All the station areas and office building has been taken in to account for cleanliness drive in every month.

Activities undertaken during the period from 11-10-2015 to 17-10-2015

1. The ‘Sardar Patel United Clean India Drive’ has been launched on this Railway from 11-10-2015 to 31-10-2015 and focus is on Railway stations and trains.

4. In Sealdah Division, the following activities have been undertaken – (a) Following stations are nominated for special cleaning :

SDAH, KOAA, NH, MJT, BT, SPR, BP, DDJ, BLN & BPC.

(b) Following stations were inspected by DRM and other Branch Officers for cleanliness:

13.10.15 – NMKA, LKPR

14.10.15 – MJT

15.10.15 – LGL, KRP, BPC, KNJ

16.10.15 – BBDB

17.10.15 – DDJ

19.10.15 – SDAH

Following officers are nominated in SDAH Division: SDAH (A1): Sr. DMO/H&FW/BRSH KOAA (A) : Sr. DMO/CP NH (A) : ACMS/NH

Cleanliness drives are being conducted in daytime in all stations. All concerned

have been advised accordingly.

CCTVs are operational at following major stations:

SDAH: 24 (+13 during puja) KOAA : 4

These are also used for monitoring of cleanliness.

Anti-littering rule have been displayed at following major stations : SDAH, KOAA, NH & BPC Special awareness campaign on proper use of bio-toilets by passengers and prevention of misuse are being done at SDAH and Kolkata Terminal by Video display. For proliferation of special efforts in coaching trains like provision of garbage bags, dustbin in sleeper coaches etc. initiative has already been taken. For Garbage Box - P. O. issued on 15.09.15. For Dustbins : Tender has been floated. Which will be opened in 1st week of Dec’15. Web based SMS Complains is Operational since 25.08.15 on all the OBHS trains of SDAH division. Action has been taken to keep additional dustbins at A1 & A stations. New Toilet complexes commissioned at Patipukur (PTKR) on 09.10.15 and at BBD Bag (BBDB) on 16.10.15. New packets with messeges on cleanliness on bedroll packet covers and UTS / PRS tickets are under printing.

5. In Howrah Division, Cleanliness drive is being carried out in full swing. In this drive focus has been given on cleanliness of railway stations and train which unite the country. The special feature of the drive is -

• Cleanliness of Howrah Station monitored by DRM and Branch Officers at

night.

• Special efforts to clean the Sheoraphuli Pond.

• Cleanliness of Dankuni Station with the help of charitable organizations.

• Coach cleanliness drive at Tikiapara and Azimganj Coaching Depot.
