Group
National Cadet Corps in Our College was started in 2018 to ignite the minds of cadets with
the motto - UNITY AND DISCIPLINE to develop qualities of character, courage,
comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, ideals of selfless
service and bring peace, prosperity and bliss to the nation.
The NCC of our college has good record of meritorious contribution; NCC activities in our
college have evoked much enthusiasm among the students. The 2 (TN) Battery NCC unit,
Coimbatore group a Artillery unit is functioning in our college with a sanctioned strength of
50 cadets and 1 Care taker Officer, who are actively indulging in all NCC activities to make
our college and our Nation proud and the few of its kind which imparts equal training to both
boy and girl cadets.
The cadets strength of SREC: NCC Artillery Cadets will be selected in NCC based
upon their Physical fitness, Medical test, Knowledge, Ability and their determination.
Selected cadets will undergo 3 years training and they will be taught on various related in
infantry subjects, which includes,

2. Scales
3. Topographical forms and technical terms
4. The grid system
5. Relief contours and gradients
6. Cardinal points and finding north
7. Type of bearings and use of service protractor
8. Prismatic compass, its use and introduction to gps
9. Setting a map, finding own position and north
10. Map to ground
11. Ground to map
12. Point to point march
Introduction to field and battle craft:
1. Description of ground
2. Observation and concealment
3. Judging distance
4. Recognition, description and indication of targets
5. Field signal
6. Section formation
7. Fire and movement
8. Section battle drill
9. Fire control orders
10. Types and conduct of patrols.
Smart and capable cadets are entitled to selection for adventure courses, all India
advance leadership camps, summer training camps of other states, training in the Himalayan
mountaineering institute, Republic day parade contingent at New Delhi etc. Outstanding
cadets are entitled to selection for going abroad under youth exchange programme.
Basic Training
Drill
Cadets must be made to understand the aim and purpose of teaching drill, so that they
are suitably motivated and do not take it as "fatigue". Emphasis will be laid on correct
bearing, marching, saluting and arms drill. Inter-squad competitions may be organized to
create interest.
Weapon Training
Cadets generally take keen interest in weapon training and firing. Units must liaise
with nearby Service and Para-Military Units to ensure that all cadets get an opportunity to
fire their authorized ammunition. Use of firing simulators may be made to optimize training
efforts where possible.
Adventure Training
Adventure activities have been incorporated in NCC training with the aim of
inculcating and strengthening leadership traits amongst the cadets. These activities in NCC
can be broadly divided into the following.
Land based - Mountaineering, Rock Climbing, and Trekking.
Water based - Sailing Expedition, White Water Rafting, Scuba Diving, River Crossing.
Air based - Parasailing.

SWACHHTA PAKHWADA RALLY ON 04.12.2019
We the NCC cadets of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College arranged for a rally as a
part of Swachhta Pakhwada mission started by our honourable Prime Minister. To spread
awareness about the harmful effects of usage of plastics and effects of plastic wastes, nearly
25 NCC cadets participated in this rally along our Officer Cadet M.Ramesh, Assistant
Professror, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The rally was started on 04.12.2019 at 4.15 pm from our college campus, covered
around 5 kilometres to reach the destination location (Thudiyalur) to aware the people of
that locality.
As we were travelling, the students of Sri Ramakrishna Vidhyalaya school became
fascinated seeing the rally. Our cadet Akshaya Priya explained the need of the rally and
encouraged the school students to clean their surroundings at their best.
Our cadet Gopinath spoke to the students of the Primary School, Vattamalaipalayam
and made them understood about the concept of the rally. The response from the students was
good and they promised to aware the students of their class too.
One of our cadets addressed a woman at the bus stand of Vattamalaipalayam and
advised her to use handicrafted cloth bags instead of using plastics. He appreciated her for
being using the clothing bags.
One of our SW insisted the overall idea to a person near Ganga College of Nursing
and told about the Swachtt Bharat Pakwada mission, its motto to which it has started and
inspired her to take part in this mission.
The people of Thudiyalur region co-operated in a nice manner. They eagerly
understood the concept of the rally.
The rally was successfully finished at 5.30 pm as we returned from Thudiyalur to our college.
It was an amazing experience to us, the NCC cadets of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering college
and it motivated us to do more social related services in the upcoming period of tim
International Yoga Day’2020
We the cadet of 2 (TN) ARTY BTY NCC unit Coimbatore, company of Sri
Ramakrishna Engineering College. As we planned to conduct some yoga
performance for International Yoga Day on 21.06.2020. But due to the situation of
COVID-19, we have planned to observe International Yoga Day at own locality
and area without making any issues that opposed to our government rules and also
with the maintenance of social distancing. We posted the picture of yoga and
explaining its benefits. One of the cadet C.Karpaga Mala has done some yoga
asanas.

(2020-21)
Lieutenant M. RAMESH, Assistant Professor (Sr.G), Department of Mechanical
Engineering has successfully completed his three months, Associate National Cadets Corps
Pre-Commissioning training from NCC Officers Training Academy Kamptee, Nagpur and he
procured 'A' grade in the training course.
NCC RDC 2020-2021
Student from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, in the National Cadet Corps
(Army Wing – SD & SW) under the 2 (TN) Battery NCC Unit, Coimbatore Group have
brought laurels to their institution. Sergeant Sajin Thomas of 3rd year Department of Civil
Engineering got selected for the RDC parade 2021, after successfully passing through five
selection camps held at various locations conducted by the Tamil Nadu NCC Directorate. He
also participated in the Republic Day Parade (RDC 2021) on 26th January 2021 and he acted
as a Parade Commander to lead the Tamil Nadu NCC Directorate team in the Prime Minister
Rally on 28.01.2021 at New Delhi.
NCC (RDC) REPUBLIC DAY LAUNCHING CAMP CONDUCTED AT SREC
FOR TEN DAYS FROM 18.12.2018 TO 27.12.2018
NCC group Headquarter, Coimbatore has selected our institution to organize the NCC
(RDC) Republic Day launching camp for ten days from 18.12.2018 to 27.12.2018. Nearly
120 NCC cadets (80 Boys and 40 Girls from various colleges and schools all over Tamil
Nadu, Pudhucherry and Andaman & Nicobar Island attended the RDC camp. These cadets
have been selected through various screening process in various camps conducted earlier,
they will take part in the forthcoming Republic Day camp at New Delhi are to be trained in
this special training camp.
Colonel Peter Celestine, Group commander, NCC group Coimbatore headed the NCC
RDC launching camp on 18.12.2018. This was supported by Wing Commander K.Jayandan,
Commanding Officer, 5 (TN) NCC Air squadron, Lieutenant Colonel K.Senthil Kumar,
Administrative Officer, training JCOs and training NCOs. The training events are Drill
parade (March past), PM rally drill, Guard of honour, Best cadets training, Flag area briefing,
Ship modeling, Aero modeling, Cultural events and short range firing.

During the training period Tamil Nadu, Pudhucherry and Andaman & Nicobar Island
Deputy Directorate General Commodore Vijesh Kumar Garg has visited our campus on
24.12.2018 for ensuring the smooth conduct of training events and to motivate the NCC
cadets to excel in Delhi RDC parade competition.
