*The History department uses GLOW groups to allow pupils to access resources, such as powerpoints and word documents used in class. Pupils should ensure that they have a GLOW username and password to enable this access.

*ShowMyHomework is also used.

*Assessments

*Pupil performance in assessments will be used by teachers to help inform the tracking/reporting process and to predict grades.

*Teachers and pupils will also have 1-1 discussions regarding performance . From these, pupils will set personalised targets and next steps.

*We are always happy to mark extra pieces of work students have completed e.g. past paper practice responses.

*

*As far as possible, we would aim to present as many candidates as possible for the N5 exam at the end of the session.

*However, it may be that, particularly in the very early stages of the course, some students seem more appropriately placed at N4 in terms of reporting, tracking and monitoring.

*It is our hope, nonetheless, to support each student to work towards and achieve the best possible outcome, which, for most students, is attainment at N5.

*Resources to support learning…

*Students can access a range of support materials and past papers/marking instructions via the SQA website. – and they’re FREE!

*Students should be able to access the Nat 5 history GLOW group, where the files that have been uploaded by teachers contain many of the powerpoints, etc used in lessons as well as copies of course and skills booklets.

*BBC Bitesize- National 5 History also has many useful resources to support learning such as revision tasks, mini tests and video clips.
