What is Poverty Poverty is not having enough money to meet basic

needs including food, clothing and shelter. Poverty is more, much more than just not having

enough money The World Bank Organization describes poverty in this

When Did it Become a Major Problem? Poverty has always been a problem,

however; Poverty became a major problem in the

early 1920's, with the great depression Families struggled to make ends meet and

stay alive In the last 50 years Poverty has increased

because of the gap between rich and poor Rich are the minority and poor are the majority of the world

Circle”

- Breakthrough project in Kenya uses a Microsoft technology lab and mentors from the company to help underprivileged girls prepare for higher education.

Starbucks is helping fix poverty by buying from coffee farmers who are underprivileged and in need of business to make ends meet
