One of the main aspects that affect the consumers decision when buying lighting products is their expected durability. But what does this mean? Is it possible to foresee the life of a lamp?
The period of error-free function defines the lifetime of a lamp. To measure it tests are performed. Regarding a batch of 1000 lamps you can see when 3%, i.e. 30 samples (B3) and 63,2%, i.e. 632 samples (Tc) of the batch failed. This enables a forecast how long every lamp‘s life is on average. The more constant the manufacturing process the closer together are the B3 and Tc values, so as a result the majority of the lamps reach their end of life at nearly the same time.
» A steeply arising line (yellow) indicates high and constant product quality, because the end of life appears exactly when it was anticipated. So the lifetime of the product is closely predictable.
» If the chart shows a flat arising line (white) it‘s an indication for an error-prone series, as the failure could appear at any time, i.e. it is nearly impossible to find out the defect lamp.
To ensure longest durability of every single lamp it is neces-sary that the entire manufacturing creates homogeneous products. Only this guarantees highest quality regardless of the fact when the lamp exactly was produced within the en-tire process. Everybody daily experiences that people better see during the day than at night. The reason for this is the human eye, because its functionality is perfectly adapted to daylight. But what is daylight? One specefication to characterize it is
the color temperature K (= Kelvin). It describes the human color perception of light. As you see in the graph, red and yellow perceived light have a lower Kelvin-value than white daylight. As daylight is ideal for the human eye it is inciden-tal that artificial light with increasing color temperature also leads to better perception. The NARVA Range Power Blue+ provides very high color temperatur and based on that it creates a closer-to-daylight beam. This meets the natural functionality of the eye and guarantees less eyestrain and increased visibility at night.

236 new storing positions for europallets speed up warehouse processes and enable a rapid turnover of merchandise.
The warehouse ofNARVA at the manufac-turing base in Plauen was used to full capa-city for several months. To provide adequate stockkeeping it was necessary to convert internal areas into
temporary storage and to charter additional stock grounds from external suppliers for about 200 pallets. Extra costs and more work followed from this situation as well as longer replacement periods. For speeding up the process of delivery and shipping NARVA decided to expand the warehouse. Since July 2007 the reconstruction of a part of a building and since October the whole rebuilding is used as fully equipped stock ground providing 236 new storing positions. Thanks to the investment into this expansion NARVA is able to meet the future logistic requirements and to ensure safe, reliable and rapid product availability for the customers.
