As we lay the foundation of new beginnings, with Narula Public School, Mogra, having opened doors to the children from Nursery to Grade VII on April 16, 2019, we welcome all the stakeholders to yet another educational initiative from the JIS Group.

Paying homage to the vision of our founding father, late Sardar Jodh Singh, who wanted to 'Enrich, Empower & Enlighten' our generation-next by integrating the best global pedagogical practices with classroom teaching-learning, we, at Narula Public School stand committed to that dream of our founding father! Through discovery, innovation, exposure & interaction we aim to bring about the holistic development of our students.

We believe that educating children does not mean teaching them facts alone, it also means teaching them how to think & learn on their own, thus becoming self-directed learners of the 21st Century. The entrepreneurial zeal and vision of the founder & Chairman of JIS Group, late Sardar Jodh Singh resulted in the group consolidating considerable stake in dairy business, telecommunication, transportation, infrastructure, logistics, education & healthcare. His noble desire to serve the society through education led to the formation of the JIS Group Educational Initiatives, which presently is the largest education service provider in Eastern India, having under its aegis 30 Institutions of higher education, catering to nearly 37,000 students, enrolled in 140 diverse academic programmes! The well designed, need based, multi-level, colossal infrastructure of NARULA PUBLIC SCHOOLis reflective of the management’s desire to provide state-of-the-art educational resources for all-round development of the students. All the classrooms, laboratories, library, activity rooms etc. are suitably equipped to deliver a fulfilling & unforgettable learning experience to the students, quite in sync withtheir futuristic aspirations. The ethos of inculcating, fostering and maintaining a high standard of morality & discipline among students in the school will be accorded prime importance. Guardians are requested to co-operate in this aspect with the school authorities and ensure regular attendance as well as punctuality of their wards. Any sort of misbehaviour, irregular attendance, insolence, habitual idleness, injuries to others etc will result in the suspension / dismissal of the concerned student from the school. • ICT INTEGRATED CLASSROOMS : To enable technology aided teaching- learning to the 21st century students, classrooms at Narula Public School have been equipped with smart boards, extensive software & high speed, secure & filtered internet connectivity. Technology driven visual medium will promote the attention span of the students & simultaneously bring closer, within the click of mouse, available reference materials for all the subjects. Additionally, the computer laboratory hardware includes a wide range of systems and configurations from stand-alone work stations to network terminals.

• VIBRANT KINDERGARTEN SEGMENT with colourful & enticing classrooms to beckon toddlers & provide joyful learning experiences to the tiny tots.

• SPORTS & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Health & physical education activities are compulsory for all the students at Narula Public School.There are designated spaces in the school campus to integrate sports activities like Athletics, Gymnastics, Football, Carrom, Chess, Volleyball, Handball, Yoga, Swimming, Cricket, Roller Skating, Badminton, Table Tennis, Basketball & Martial Arts in the day-to-day instructional practices.

• CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: With an objective of holistic development of the personality of students, co-curricular activities have been integrated in the school curriculum. Trained & experienced teachers mentor the students in special activity rooms in the school campus for inculcating creative skills, ingenuity & competitive spirit among the students & nurturing their talents under the following heads:

• MATHEMATICS LABORATORY: In order to develop analytical and logical thinking among students, Narula Public School has a Mathematics Lab. It is well equipped and aims to foster love for Mathematics among students.Our experienced faculty uses the lab to impart a strong practical slant tovarious mathematical concepts, thus enriching the entire learning experience.

• WELL STOCKED LIBRARY: Library is the nerve center of any educational institution. In order to cater to the demands of curriculum and reading tastes of various age groups, Narula Public School has a well-stocked library with books from different genres, subscription tonewspapers in different languages and children’smagazines. The Librarian supervises Reading Club activities by motivating the students to read age appropriate fictionas well as non-fiction materials available in the school library.

• POWER BACKUP AND SOLAR PANELS: With an objective of providing respite to the students during the summer months in case of load shedding, there is an arrangement of power back - up. The management plans to install Solar Panels in the school campus, which is an affirmation of the school’s commitment to resource management, conservation of energy & imbibing innovative practices.

• CAMERAS AND FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM: Surveillance Cameras have been installed in every nook and corner of this multi-storeyed school. Even the fire fighting systems have been installed at appropriate places in the school building

• TRANSPORT: The school shall soon start providing transport facilities to the students coming from different parts of the city.

SAFETY CONCERNS - Narula Public School ensures compliance with Anti- Bullying Policy, Child Protection Policy (POCSO-2012) & Guidelines of ‘safe school vahan scheme’ issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in letter & spirit.

SCHOOL COUNSELLOR & SPECIAL EDUCATOR: A qualified Counsellor will be present in the school to counsel Pupils and guardians on Life Skills and behavioural issues. Also, an educator will be appointed to identify & mentor students with Special Needs (in accordance with guidelines on Inclusive Education).

• COMPOSITE SCIENCE LABORATORY: The School has a well-equipped Composite Science Laboratory to facilitate ‘learning by doing’. The students are guided by trained staff to perform experiments, measure data and analyze results so as to match their practical observations with theoretical knowledge.

• AIR CONDITIONED AUDITORIUM with a seating capacity of 1000 heads hasbeen planned in school campus to facilitate Students’ presentation of Visual &Performing Arts

• WATER COOLING SYSTEMS & PURIFIERS have been installed on all the floors of the school building to provide safe drinking water to the students.

• A WELL- EQUIPPED MEDICAL ROOM to meet up with any medical requirement or emergency. A doctor (on call) & a trained nurse is available during the school hours

The school follows NCERT curriculum outline for both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas. However, curriculum for the toddlers in the Playschool & Kindergarten is designed to develop the Cognitive, Linguistic & Numerical skills of the students besides targeting development of the Affective domain (social and inter personal relations) as well as Psychomotor Skills (including kinaesthetic skills, music and Computers).

Pupils are encouraged to interact with the teachers both inside and outside the classroom. To make this interaction easy and possible, teacher- pupil ratio is restricted to 1:20 at the Pre-Primary stage and 1:30 at the Primary & Upper-Primary stage.

English is the Medium of instruction at Narula Public School, Mogra& special impetus is given to polish the communication skills of the students in English. However, teaching –learning of Hindi & Bengali ( soon French & Gurmukhi too) is being facilitated as second & third language according to the language policy of the Directorate of Education.

CLASS PG – II -Each academic year is divided into two terms:Term I : April to SeptemberTerm II : October to MarchEach term will have Two Assessments. Performance of the students in assessments is indicated in grades.

Grade III – Grade VIII - The academic performance of the studentsis assessed through planned formative / periodic tests and summative assessment (half-yearly & annual) in each term. Students are graded according to cumulative performance throughout the assessments, based on which they are promoted to the next class at the end of each academic year. Each academic year is divided into two terms:Term I : April to SeptemberTerm II : October to March

PARENT – TEACHER MEETING: An Open House is conducted on the third Saturday of each month, where the guardians may meet the Subject teachers & Class teachers of their ward/s to clarify any doubts about their ward’s performance. If they desire to meet the School Principal, a prior appointment on any working day through the school office may be sought.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION & WITHDRAWAL: Admission is granted to the students in NPS as per the following structure & age eligibility norms(as on March 31 of admission year):

• Interested parents/guardians should obtain a copy of the School Prospectus & Admission form from the school office by paying ` 200/- The Application form, duly filled, in all respects should be submitted within the announced time.

• Parents may also register online through the link provided in the school website. However, registration does not imply admission, which is subject to availability of seats.

• Parents applying in the Nursery & Kindergarten segment will be invited for an interactive session with the school authorities before admission. (This will not be an interview)

• Verification of documents (in original) attached with the application form will be initiated before granting admission.

• In case a guardian wishes to withdraw his/her ward from the school, he should inform the school in writing at least one month in advance or pay one month’s fees in lieu thereof.

• Transfer certificate will be issued only if a guardian applies for it in writing to the Principal, and obtains due clearance from all concerned departmentsof the school.

TEXT BOOKS & NOTE BOOKS:All prescribed textbooks and exercise books will be supplied, on payment of necessary charges, by agencies approved by the school management.

SCHOOL UNIFORM & DRESS CODE:Details of the prescribed school uniform & the vendors (for the Pupils of Nursery through Class VIII) for the upcoming Academic Session will be given in the School Almanac for the information of the parents.

SCHOOL ALMANACAt the beginning of each Academic session, the school authorities will provide pupils with a copy of the school Almanac/ Diary. Information and details regarding attendance, absence, assessment, scholastic and co-scholastic activity calendar will be printed in the almanac
