The odds of the main character are usually very very low, and the human will often find that he or she has some sort of link to the alien life forms that seem to be invading.

The chances that the human has to face and overcome are very small and normally the teams that they fight in seem to be very small, there will usually be somebody tracking or hunting someone else as a “vigilante” type character or life form.
