His birth

• He was born on August, the 15th 1769 in Corsica (island on the South of France).

• He was the fourth son of Carlo Buonaparte and Letizia Ramolino. It’s a well-off family.

Military studies

• Napoleon begin his military school in 1779. He stayed five years in this school and was very good in mathematics.

• In 1784, he pass the exam to go in the military school of Paris.

• In 1785, he graduated school and was lieutenant in the artillery regiment.

Military life

• He took the lead of the National Guard in 1792 during the French Revolution.

• In 1793, he was named General

• In 1796, he was named chief of the Italian army and start the Italian campaign.

• In 1798, he created an army in Egypt and took the lead of the Egyptian campaign.

Italy campaign

• He took the lead of the Italian army which was bad and weak. But with his strategies Napoleon won a lot of war against Austria and finally a treaty was found for a peace between the 2 countries.

• Because of his victories he became increasingly influential in Italy and in France.

Egyptian campaign

• In 1798, Napoleon came back from Italy and leave for Egypt with a big army. During the trip, he escaped of the English army. Finally they arrived in Egypt. Napoleon army took control of Egypt but the English army destroyed the French ship army.

• In 1799, the plague appear in the French army which was weak so Napoleon leave Egypt quickly and went back to France.

Beginning of his Empire

• In 1999, Bonaparte was named First Consul and he changed the Constitution in the way to be more powerful.

• He sold the Louisiana state at the USA in 1802.

• To save the Republic, he was named Emperor of France in 1804, which gave him all the power.

The Bonaparte Empire

• In 1804, Bonaparte tried to take the England but lost his ship army and the battle in Trafalgar.

• From 1804 to 1812, Bonaparte win a lot of wars and extended the French Empire on Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy, and Poland.

• But in 1812, he tried to take the Russia with an army of 600,000 soldiers but he lost the battle because the army wasn’t prepared of the Russian winter.

The end of his Empire

• In 1814, all the countries which was on the Bonaparte Empire made a union against France.

• The France was under the control of the enemy army and he knew that he will loose his power so he try to kill himself by drinking poison but he missed.

• He was exiled on the Elbe island the April 3rd but kept is title of Emperor for this island.

End of his life

• In 1814, Napoleon Bonaparte returned in France to restored his Empire.

• But the enemies didn’t want him so they restarted to fight against France. Napoleon Bonaparte lost his last war on Waterloo in 1815.

• He was exiled on Saint-Helene island (an English island), he died on May, the 5th 1821.

Why is he my hero?

• I choose Napoleon Bonaparte because I like what he did and even if he let France poor and killed a lot of people, he tried to made a very big empire.

• He had the conviction that France could be a powerful country and he did it but maybe he wanted more than he could have and that why he lost his power.

• But he was appreciate by French people and even today he is a legend and he is admire for what he did.
