IntroductionThemostimportantknowledgethatweneedtoseekisknowledgeaboutAllah.Thisisthepurposeofourcreation.AllahbroughtusinthislifetoknowHim.WhenweknowAllahwewillworshipHim.KnowledgeaboutAllahisthemostnobleknowledgebecauseitpertainstheMostNobleOne-Allah.ThisiswhyitisimportanttoknowAllahbyHisnames,HisattributesandHisactions.WewillstudythenameArRaqeeb.Andtoday’sclasswillbeontheimportanceofknowingthenamesofAllah

Ø Wewant to firmon thedeenand todieuponLa ilaha illal la. TheProphetSAWsaid, ”Theone

whoselastwordsare“lailahailal la”willenterparadise.WehavetoknowAllahinordertodieupon “La ilaha illal la” Everything in this life can be compensated – houses, money, spouses,children,etc.Buttodiewhilemissingparadisethennothingcanbecompensatedforthat.

Ø Somepeopledieintheirprostration,somediewhilerecitingQuran,somedieintheumrah,whatdidtheydotobehonoredwiththisend?Allah(swt)istheOneWhokeepsthebelieversfirm.

Ø Allah(swt)keepstheoneswhobelieve“firmintheDuniya”and“Akhirah”.Hewillmakethemto

actuponthisword,andwhenasked‘WhoisyourRabb?Whatisyourdeen?Whoisyourprophet?,Allah(swt)willmakehimfirminthegrave.

Ø Thosewhowrongthemselveswithkufr,shirk,rebellionetc.willbeleadastray.ThewillofAllah

(swt)isbasedonHiswisdomandknowledge.Allah(swt)knowswhodeservestodieon“Lailahailallla”andwhodoesn’tdeservetodieonit.

Ø HereAllahmentionsthegoodwordi.e.thewordoftawheed.Allahissettingforthaparableofthepalm treewith thegoodlyword.Thepalm tree is like thewordofTauheed in theheartof thebeliever.Therootsofthistreearefixedfirmlyintheheartofthebeliever.Andbecausethiswordisfirmlyfixed,he’sdoingmanygooddeedsandgoodutterances.Allah(swt)isacceptinghisgooddeedsandaccordinglyHeisgivinghim‘fruits’,rewards.Thisisthedescriptionofthebeliever,HeisfulfillingtheconditionsofLailahailala.TherootsaretheconditionsofLailahaillalla.

Ø Therearesevenconditionsoflailahailala.1. Knowledge:aboutAllahandhisnamesandattributes:2. Certainty:haveknowledgesuchthatisreachesthestateofcertainity3. Acceptance:ofeverythingthatAllahhasordainedforus.4. Submission:Thismeansobedience.Iwillnotquestionwhyoraskwhatisthewisdombehind

everything.5. IactonthecommandofAllahwithlove,truthfulnessandsincerity

WhenwefulfiltheaboveconditionsAllahwillkeepusfirm.

WhatshouldIdotohavefirmnessinourheart?Firststep:LearnaboutAllahIhavetolearnaboutAllahfromtheQuran.ThegreatestAyahinthequranistheayatalkursiwhichisaboutAllah.Ayatalkursihas27namesandattributesofAllah.Onethirdofthequran(surahikhlaas)isaboutAllahWehave to learnaboutAllahsoour lastwordsare la ilaha ilala .Aswe learnmoreaboutAllahourheartwillattachmoretoAllah.AsweknowmoreaboutAllahwewillliveasoneonearthforoneabovethesevenheavensandwewilldieuponlailahaillallaWhateverwedoweshouldseekthepleasureofAllah. Thenoblestknowledge is theknowledgeaboutAllah.SecondStep:Ihavetobeaseerandnotblind.Allahmentions derivatives of ‘blindness’ 26 times in theQuran, the blindperson is the onewho goesthroughsituationsanddoesn’tknowhowtointerpretwhat’shappeningtohim.Theblindisnotequaltotheonewhosees.Forexample,you’regoingthroughafinancialproblemandimmediatelyyouthinkofsoandso,she’salwayshelpingme,andyougotoherwithfulltrustinherandshesays‘sorryIcan’tgiveyou’. You come back to your home and say, ‘she was generous and now she’s becomemiserly, whathappenedtoher?’.Thisindicatesyoudidn’texplaintheactionofAllahcorrectly.Youputyourtrustinherinsteadofputtingyour trust inAllah–Allahnurturedyou.Don’t relyonpeople, resort toHim,Hewillmakethepeoplehelpyou.SurahFatirAyah2-3

Sahih International Whatever Allah grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Sahih International O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?Allah tells usHe opens themercy towhomeverHewills. Every good I attain ismercy and every evildrivenawayfrommeisalsomercy.Tobesavedfromanaccidentisamercy,tobecuredisamercy.WhenAllahopensthemercyforapeople,noonecanwithholdit.WhenAllahopensthemercyforapeople,noonecanwithholdit.NoonecangrantuswhateverAllahwithholdsfromus.AllahisAlAzeezAlHakeemmeaning whatever He wills, will happen. His Command is executed. No one can stop or repel Hiscommand.Allah’sAzziza is joinedwithHisHikmah.Hedoesnotgrantorwithholdsrandomlybut it iswithwisdom.AllahisAllwiseandHeknowswhentogive,whattogiveandhowmuchtogive.Weshouldnotblameanyoneforanyproblemsweface.AllahiscallingthemankindandremindingthemofHisblessing.IsthereanycreatorwhocangiveusanyprovisionifAllahwithholdsit?WhydoweturnawayfromHimwhenAlltheprovisionisinAllah’shand.Ifwetrulylivedtheseayatthenwewillbehappy.Sometimeswewakeupfromoursleepandourheartisconstricted,wearenothappy.Constrictionoftheheart isoneof theactionsofAllah (swt)– ithas causes i.e. committing sins, etc. Ifwedon’tknow thereason,don’taccusepeopleasalltheproblemswearegoingthroughisduetoourignorance.WeneedtoaskforgivenessforoursinsandaskAllah(swt)toopenourheartSurahTahaAyah25

Sahih International And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the MercifulWhenanyharmtouchesyou,noonecanremoveitexceptAllah.Allahlikestohearourinvocation.Wecryto Allah, shed tears to Him, invoke Him, flee to Him, return to Him. situations,explainitcorrectlyaccordingtoHisnamesandattributes.AllahmayclosethegatesofotherpeopleforyouinorderforyoutoruntoHim,butwedon’tunderstandthisfactAllahissendingwarningstous,whenyouhearanearthquakehappened,hurricaneetc.it’snotrandom.Don’tthinkit’snotmeantforyou,repenttoAllah,askHimforthewell-being,askhimtonotbetested,andtoremovethedistressfromothers.AllahclosesthegatesofotherpeopleforHimsowemayruntoHim.Allahissendinguswarnings(eitherinourpersonallifeorintheworld).Allahmadeustohearthesethingse.g.weswitchontheradioandthere’saspecificayahthatwehear.It’snotrandom,everydecreeofAllahhaspurposeorsometimesweareremindedaboutoursin.ThisissothatwerenewourrepentancetoHimandwhenwerepenttoHimthenoursinsareexchangedtogooddeeds.Everythingwearegoingthroughthereisgoodness,butweneedtoexplainitcorrectly.WeneedtothinkandexpectgoodfromAllah.EverytimewelearnaboutHim,weexpectgoodfromHim.IfweliveourentirelifethinkinggoodaboutAllah,thenHewillgiveusaswethinkofHim.IfwethinkHewillhavemercyonusatthetimeofdeaththenHewill.HowwillAllahkeepthemfirm?ItisknowledgeaboutAllahthatwillkeepusfirmAllahwillkeepfirmthosewhohadbeliefintheirheartsandtheyhaveprovenitwithgooddeeds.ActionsofAllah

1. Allahwillkeepthemfirmbyrepellingthedoubtswithfirmknowledge.2. WhenanydesirearouseinthemthenAllahwillstrengthenthembygivingthemstrongresolution

sotheychosewhatAllahloves.HypocritesTheylookasgoodMuslimsfromtheoutside,thereishijab,prayer,fasting,buttheheartisempty,thereisnomagnificationorloveofAllah(swt).Andthisisoneofthesymptomsofhypocrisy

SurahMunafiqoon,Ayah1

SahihInternationalWhenthehypocritescometoyou, [OMuhammad], theysay,"Wetestify thatyouaretheMessengerofAllah."AndAllahknowsthatyouareHisMessenger,andAllahtestifiesthatthehypocritesareliars.What istheformoftheir lies?TheProphetSAWisamessengerofAllah–this isa fact.ThehypocritessaidtheirbeliefintheProphetSAWissostrongthattheywitnessit,butAllahsaidthey’reliarsbecausetherearenofeelingsinsidetheheart.Theyareexpressingfeelings,whicharenotestablishedintheheart.TheysaytheyfearAllah,thoughtheydon’tfearHim,theysaytheyloveHim,buttheydon’tloveHim.Ø Peopleareworryingabout theirouterappearance,butwhatabout theheart?Howmuch love, fear,

hope ofAllah is there?Howdowe know? Look at the effect of these feelingswhile praying,whilebeingdutifultoourparents,whilegivingcharity,whilepromisesaremadeandthenbroken–thisiscalledemptyadherence(ٕالتزامٔاجوف).Theyfeeltheprayer,hijab,abaya,etc.asaburden.Theydon’tseeitasanhonorforthem.

Ø The core and soul of our worships is our belief in the unseen. Everyone is doing good from theoutside,buttherearepeoplewhiledoinggooddeeds,they’rethinkingoftheakhira,whatwillmaketheirweightheavywithAllah(swt).Therearepeopledoingbuttherearenofeelingsfortheakhira,theyarebeingdonebecausetheyarecommandsfromAllah.Theydon’tfeelit’sanhonorfromAllahorisgoodforthem.

Ø ManypeoplerecitetheQuranbutithasnoeffectonthem.Thesinsareanobstacletoourlearning.SomayAllahforgiveusoursins.
