Work Experience is a chance for young people to get to see how the business works and for the employer to demonstrate and excite young people into that sector.

We know that work experience is now recognised as providing the fundamental grounding for quality work-related learning experiences and employers are best placed to

provide the introduction and practical application. Over the years the Milton Keynes business community has proved highly supportive of links with schools.

Corporate community involvement is increasing on the business radar and one of the most effective ways to be a good corporate citizen is to give back to the local community where employees and families live, work and study. As a result, local employer supported volunteering, gifts in kind, donations and sponsorship are becoming an integral part of a company's vision and values and a means to develop staff.

Develop's Work Experience is an exciting opportunity for local businesses to work with local schools and develop a business sense and con idence in today’s 14 - 16 year olds, to shape the skills set of tomorrow's school leavers - the future employees of tomorrow.

Thank you for completing this log book. It helps everyone around you to see what you put into it and what you got out of your placement.

Please take it to your debrief at school.

Also, please write a thank you letter to your placement company after the placement ends. This will help them remember you if you later ask for a reference, and will ensure the employer feels appreciated for their effort in hosting a placement.

Thank You

Good Luck!
