PRINCIPAL’S NOTES

SRC Pyjama Day Our SRC Fundraiser, Pyjama Day, will be held on the last day of term, Friday July 3rd. A gold coin donation will help to support children in foster care. Students and staff are encouraged to wear appropriate pyjamas and enclosed footwear.

Drink Bottles Students are required to bring drink bottles to school, which can be refilled at school with rainwater. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions the bubblers are not allowed to be used at the moment.

Year 6 Shirts Orders for the Year 6 shirts are due by July 3rd. The cost is $20 per shirt, which has been subsidised by the school. Students are required to hand in their notes and the shirts will be ordered over the holidays.

Agriculture Plot News A new exclusion fence is being constructed by the Agriculture and Primary Industries students, under the guidance of Mr Standing and Mr Waters. The strainer posts have been cemented in and it is planned that the fence be completed by the end of the term. Well done to everyone involved!

3D Printer and Vinyl Cutter In keeping with our students using the emerging technologies, the school has purchased a 3D Printer and a Vinyl Cutter. These arrived late last week and students will be experimenting with them in the near future.

PAT Assessments Students from Year 2 to Year 10 have undertaken PAT (Progressive Achievement Tests) assessments in the areas of Numeracy and Literacy. The data provided will allow teachers to tailor to the needs of individual students to advance their progress.

Kindergarten News Term 2 has been a very busy time in our Kindergarten classroom. We have been doing lots of reading and writing in our morning Literacy sessions.

In Maths we have been using numbers to count forwards and backwards and using them to add up. We have also used shapes to make patterns.

In Art, learning about the letter ‘x’, we followed steps to draw a clever fox! We drew this on black paper and then coloured it in using oil pastels to make it look effective and for the colours to pop! We have also been looking at Indigenous Art and are currently completing a dot painting of our hands in readiness for our Education Week wall display.

For sport on Fridays, our class has joined with Year 1/2. We have been practising our soccer skills and will be superstars in no time!!

Remember that Pyjama Day is fast approaching and you must wear warm clothing and enclosed shoes!
