Robert Owen believed in cooperative socialism. He created industrial communities that were self sufficient. Working conditions for workers improved and wages were increased. He was trying to create a utopia or ideal society. Karl Marx rejected this idea and believed that history was a struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. (the have nots and haves).
