Several residents attended the me eting to talk about the situa- tion , including Mrs. Edward Bishop, who had aLo writte n a letter to tire board , calling attention to the •> matter and suggesting possible solutions. Many of those present believed that the races should not be al- lowed since disturbances have ac- companied them. It was agreed b y the board that no boats will be al- lowed to be tied to the dock except those of boat berth owners afte r 10 p. m. on any ni ght oi * a racing- event , and ii was decided to have notices printed to this effect and passed out by the dockmaster. The possibility of clearing the dock after 10 p: m. was also dis- ( uss"(i. It was agreed imu if i hj police would enforce the law re- garding minors drinking intoxi- cating beverages it mi g ht hel p. It was also agreed that the village attorney should prepare an ordin- ance prohibiting the partaking of intoxicating beverages on a public- street in the village. George Seyfert and Robert Werner attended the meeting to discuss the sump at the corner of K reamer Street and General Mc- Lean Drive and it was agreed that some p lanting should be done around the fence , with Mr. Sey fert to diaw up some proposed ideas on the subject. A letter from Pelletreau & Pel- let r'-au concerning the use b y the public of the property privately owned at the foot of Brown 's Lane was read. It staled that the own- er not only has the right to bulk- head property but also has the right to erect a pier into the wa t er for the purpose of access to the water. A letter from the State Con- fe rence of Mayors announcing the annual school for cit y and village clerks and fiscal officers at Albany September 2f>-27 was read and th" board authorized the village clerk and treasurer to attend. The Patehogue Electric Light Company wrote and sent a layout for relighting and improving the street lighting in the village. It was to be studied and more de- tails obtained on the cost . It was agreed to ascertain what if would cosr to repair the house at the twelfth green at the gol f course and then decide whether it would be feasible to repair it or remove it , and also to proceed with the watering project for the fourth tee area , including the electricity, trench and materials for approximately $1 , 300 . Permission was granted to tne Bellport unit of the Women ' s Aux- iliaries of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital to use a public address svstem at their barbecue at the Bell port dock September 3 from 5 to 8 p. m. B haven Host to Student From Paris ENTERING GRADUATE STUDY: By Anne Hornbostel BROOKHAVEN The hamlet of Brookhaven is playing host this month to an exchange student from France. Mademoiselle Hug- uette Aine of Paris has been stay- ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael MIcKeown of Mott Lane for two week?. Yesterday she be- gan a two-weeks ' visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Floyd , also of Mott Lane. Mademoiselle Aine arrived in the United States August 11 , aboard th'? Italian lines , Irpinia. Pursuant to a Fulbri ght Fehow ship, she will engage in graduate study at Washing ton University ii St. Louis , Mo., for one year. Since her field is social work , she will also be connected with "King dom House " , a settlement house in St. Louis. In Paris , Mademoiselle Aine studied at the Ecole de Service Social , a private school , for three years. Thereafter she worked as assistante sociale , and then in a Paris settlement house. Mademoi- selle Aine exp lained that social services in France are far more privately run and organized than they are in the United States. She plans to return to her old position in the sett ' ement whet- she returns to Paris. Her trip to the United States , and her stay in Brookhaven , was arranged by the council on student travel. Mademoiselle Aine particu- larl y enjoyed the voyage across the Atlantic ; she reported that there were over 400 foreign stu - dents aboard the Irpinia , includ- ing 185 Africans. Of the 31 na- tionalities represented on the pas- senger list , the largest non-Afri- can groups were French. Indian , Italian , Swiss and British. The students ' time was filled with dis- cussions of American customs round tables on world problems , lessons on topics ranging from the geography of New York City to the Cha Cha , and all kinds of social events . At the end of the voyage the students dispersed to private homes all over the coun- try in order to continue their familiarization with the American way of life. On September 3, Mademoiselle Aine will depart for New York , where she will take part in an oz*ientation and sight-seeing pro- gram arranged under the auspices of the Atlantic French-American Association. M a n y of those present believedthat the races should not be al-lowed since disturbances have ac-companied them. It was agreed b ythe board that no boats will be al-lowed to be tied to the dock exceptthose of boat berth owners af te r10 p. m. on any ni ght oi* a racing-event , and ii was decided to havenotices printed to this effect andpassed out by the dockmaster.

BROOKHAVEN — The hamletof Brookhaven is playing hostthis month to an exchange studentfrom France. Mademoiselle Hug-uette Aine of Paris has been stay-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs.Michael MIcKeown of Mott Lanefor two week?. Yesterday she be-gan a two-weeks' visit with Mr.and Mrs. John Floyd , also ofMott Lane.

Mademoiselle Aine arrived inthe United States August 11,aboard th'? Italian lines , Irpinia.Pursuant to a Fulbright Fehowship, she will engage in graduatestudy at Washing ton University iiSt. Louis, Mo., for one year.Since her field is social work , shewill also be connected with "Kingdom House", a settlement house inSt. Louis.

In Paris, Mademoiselle Ainestudied at the Ecole de ServiceSocial , a private school , for threeyears. Thereafter she worked asassistante sociale , and then in aParis settlement house. Mademoi-selle Aine explained that socialservices in France are far moreprivately run and organized thanthey are in the United States.She plans to return to her oldposition in the sett 'ement whet-she returns to Paris.

Her trip to the United States,and her stay in Brookhaven , wasarranged by the council on studenttravel. Mademoiselle Aine particu-larl y enjoyed the voyage acrossthe Atlantic ; she reported thatthere were over 400 foreign stu-dents aboard the Irpinia , includ-ing 185 Africans. Of the 31 na-tionalities represented on the pas-senger list, the largest non-Afri-can groups were French. Indian ,Italian , Swiss and British. Thestudents' time was filled with dis-cussions of American customsround tables on world problems,lessons on topics ranging from thegeography of New York City tothe Cha Cha, and all kinds ofsocial events. At the end of thevoyage the students dispersed toprivate homes all over the coun-try in order to continue theirfamiliarization with the Americanway of life.

On September 3, MademoiselleAine will depart for New York ,where she will take part in anoz*ientation and sight-seeing pro-gram arranged under the auspicesof the Atlantic French-AmericanAssociation. On September 15 shewill fly to St. Louis to begin herstudies.

Police said Roland Thomas Phe-lan of (53(5 Bourdois Avenue , wasa passenger in a car operated bvRobert J . Smi th , 17. of (1/55 Bour-dois A v e n u e , Bell port . when theaccident occurred about 7:35 p. m.on Dunton Ave nue , about 250 feetnorth of South Country Road .

According to police the driverof the second car , Mrs. Robert D.Gerard , 35, of 15 Furman Ave-nue , East Patehogue , told themshe was proceeding north on Dun-ton Avenue.

S m i t h told police that he was(' r iving >outh on Dunton Aveiv "when his vehicle went into a skidand was collision with the Ger-ard auto. Police said Smith wastreated for a laceration on hisforehead at the hospital and re-leased.
