The Ida and Pingala naadis originate in the mooladhara chakra and then cross each other at various locations. Every node of their intersection marks a “chakra”.

Ida Naadi – Left Side

1. Ida is the left channel. 2. Ida is white3. Feminine4. Cold5. Represents the moon6. Associated with the river

Ganga (Ganges)7. Originating in Muladhara, Ida

ends up in the left nostril

Pingala Naadi – Right Side

Sushumna is the central channel and is associated with the river Saraswati. Running up the body from just below mooladhara chakra to Sahasrara chakra at the crown of the head.
