Rvar Humber Ga Pipeflne FepIncAnont Project Stteinent of Common rnound Histoc ngidnd

Hyder Consukirig (UK) Lnflred-221299

Scheme DescriptionNational Grid is proposing to construct a replacement gas pipeline under theHumber Estuary to ensure the long term security of the Feeder 9 GasTransmission Pipeline. The river bed cover over the existing No 09 Crossing iscurrently being eroded by the Humber Estuary. The Feeder 9 pIpeline carries ahigh level of importance within the National Transmission System (NTS) as astrategic pipeline conveying significant volumes of natural gas away from theEaslngton Importation Terminal south towards the Hatton Compressor Facility.

21 ,2 The Scheme would comprise a new high pressure gas pipeline installed Within abored tunnel that would run between the existing Goxhill Above GroundInstallation (AGI) on the south bank of the Humber Estuary within NorthLincoinshire to the Paull AOl on the north bank within East Riding of Yorkshire.

The total length of the pipeUne route would be up to 6 kilomotres (krn) from theGoxhlll AOl to the Paul! AG!. The length of the tunnel would be appoximatoly5,03km based on the provisional drive and reception pit locations with theEstuary crossing beIng 31cm. Approximately l2Orn of new pipeline would be laidonshore at Goxhill from the Goxhill AG! to the start of the tunnelled sebtion and

approximately 400m would he laid onshore at Paul! to connect the new pipelineinto Paul! AGI.The bored tunnel would have a minimum internal diameter of3.66m and a maximum internal diameter of 4m. The pipeline would be laid at adepth of a minimum of 7rn below the true bed of the Humber Estuary.

At the start of April 2015, English Heritage separated into two different bodies.A new charity retaining the name English Heritage looks after the NationalHeritage Collection - the stone circles, castles and abbeys, historic houses and

all the other sites that were previously in English Heritage’s direct care. Historic

England is now the competent authority for managing the historic environment

of England and in this case for advising on the care of the historic environmentin area of the Scheme, All the DCO documents prepared after let AprIl 2015 willtherefore refer to Historic England as a statutory consuitee.

2.1.5 National Grid and Historic England agree that Historic England has beenconsulted regularly by National Grid throughout the development of theScheme
