Commodore’s Corner Committee Boat Training Our Committee Boat (CB) is one of the club's key assets. It is used to set and retrieve our mooring mushrooms at the beginning and end of the sailing season, it ferries guests from the shore to sailboats and back during our Open Houses, it is used to set the course for our regattas, it is used as a "chase boat" on cruises, and most importantly, it assists in rescue and recovery efforts when our sailors and boats need help. Use of the CB requires that the skipper be keyed specifically on the CB and that the CB is signed out in the logbook like any other boat. The CB is not to be used for pleasure cruising. We would like to have more club members become qualified to operate the CB. Getting keyed consists of learning a few straightforward steps, and some practice at the helm. If you have already earned your key on a sailboat and are interested in getting keyed on the CB please send an email to [email protected]. I will make a list of interested members and arrange for training.
