The co-teaching classroom follows a different curriculum
• Follows same curriculum as the other grade level classes
• Teachers plan as a grade level to ensure continuity
• General ed. classroom with modifications
The co-teaching classrooms move at a
slower pace• Follows same curriculum map as grade level class
• Teachers plan together-must stay on track
• Children not “bored” due to differentiation
All the “slow” and/or “low” students are put into the co-
teaching class• General ed.
Classroom-students of ALL abilities are present
• Class is differentiated to meet individual needs
• Children are not “labeled” by being in a co-teaching class
Children are distracted by having more than one adult in the
classroom• Allows for more one-
on-one and small-group instruction
• Always someone available to help
• Expert instruction based on area of expertise
