award
Nieve and Jacob P for an absolutely fantastic start to their Carnival
Curator role I hope you really enjoy iy and looking forward to
hearing more about it over the year. Good Luck!
Do you remember the Little Lever Carnival ?
Did you take part as a child ? Were you a Rose Queen ?
Mrs Robinson is leading a project with all the Little Lever primary schools.
They have secured funding from Heritage Lottery to carry out historical re-
search into the carnival AND then put together a Little Lever Primary Schools
carnival in July 2020.
Each school has a team of Carnival Curators Nieve D and Jacob P who are
doing the initial research. In Spring all the children at Mytham will be doing a
history unit on the carnival -based on their findings.
The Curators are inviting local residents to come to tell them about their
memories at two Carnival Chatter sessions –see poster, however if you are
unable to make it there is also a memories form that you could complete and
send in. Alternatively follow us on Facebook (lostcarnivaloflittlelever) and
send is a message. We look forward to hearing from you.

Assessment Week
It’s been a week of hard work and concentration—with most classes completing assessments. Teachers analyse the results
and immediately begin to adapt their planning to meet the needs of every child. Most Pupils have a fantastic attitude to
learning this year and looking forward to some pleasing progress. Well done to everyone for concentrating so hard despite the
excitement of Bonfire Night!
Well Done to the Reception Team
Reception staff work was monitored this week by our Early Years Advisor. It was amazing to see how much progress the
children are making with their phonics and reading. The advisor said that the ‘Learning was impressive and outstanding’ I was
thrilled with that ! Well done everyone. Many thanks to Reception parents. Mrs Lawrence tells me that you are all on board
with homework especially with practicing reading. It is obviously having a great impact !
