The Myth of Hercules

• Hercules was a son of Zeus. Hera didn’t like Hercules because he was born by a mortal woman. So by having Hera as an enemy Hercules was forced into a challenge of service for twelve years. One of his challenges was to peel off the skin of the Nemean lion. His next task was to kill the hydra. After doing so he was told to get the hide of a sacred dear. His next task was to clean the stables of king Augeas. Nearing the end of his challenges, King Augeas made the challenges harder. So to begin the second part o the challenges Hercules was ordered to remove a flock of birds that had settled by the river. Soon after Hercules completed

his task and was given immortality.
