Mysore, Mysore as it is called today, is one of the most populated cities in the southern state of Karnataka, and one of India’s most famous tourist destinations. The Mysore Palace is an extremely important center of world heritage which brings most travelers to the city but the city is also famous for sandalwood, proudly called the Mysore Sandal, silk materials known around the world as Mysore silk and much more. The presence of several ornate examples of heritage monuments with architectural excellence has also earned the city the name of city of palaces and it is mostly called the cultural capital of Karnataka due to the extensive ways in which festivals are celebrated here, especially Dussehra when the palace comes alive with beautiful lights.

Railway station

The Mysore Junction railway station with around six platforms operates several important trains to and from the station connecting the city to several prime stations in southern and northern parts of India. After the conversion of the station into broad gauge, extension of lots of trains that originally stopped at Bangalore till Mysore took place. Also the first station in India to have facilities available for the visually challenged, the station is located in proximity to the city and is well connected with other parts.

Cuisine The Mysore cuisine largely the Udipi food has as its

basic ingredient, rice, like the rest of south India. An exciting platter of richly flavored food with spices makes for a relishing eating experience. Main breakfast include idli, dosa with a variety of dosas including masala dosa, set dosa, rava dosa etc. in addition to these, Mysore is also famous for a number of sweets including Mysore Pak, Chiroti, shavige payasa etc. We arrange for these local delicacies to be served for you while you’re on your train without making too many efforts for it.
