A few builders had decided to try their luck with development of apartments and villas. The field must have been
lucrative enough to continue this new field as a profession, this lending credence to the adage that the pasture
looked greener on the other side of the fence.
Soon enough the many problems that began to confront the developers, saw the need to form a common
platform to address these various nuances and its related issues. This gave birth to the “Developers Guild”, under
the stewardship of Mr. M B Nagakumar.
The public at large had by now seen the necessity to move into apartment style of living, driven by compulsive
social needs. The products of the various developers had to be showcased to educate the public at large and the
apartment seekers in particular. Therefore this saw the birth of a property expo the first of which was held in 2006
to cater to the needs of this growing market. At around this time the developers at Bangalore who were functioning
under the name and style of KOAPA decided to merge this powerful association into CREDAI, the national body
representing the real estate industry. This association called CREDAI was the brain child of the then Union Urban
Minister Mr.Ramjethmalani. The developers at Bangalore requested the developers at Mysore also to join the main
stream and thus become members of CREDAI. The Mysore Builders Charitable Trust was kind enough to sponsor
our entry into CREDAI. We were now functioning under aegis of the MBCT. The Charter President of CREDAI
Mysore was Mr.K Sriram. This having being done the property expo began to function in the name and style of
MyRealty. This was being jointly hosted by BAI and CREDAI, supported by Spoorthi. Since then this expo has grown

The just concluded expo held between 24th and 26th at Hotel Radisson Blu was the 13th edition of the property
expo. Mr. M. Jagadishbabu, President CREDAI Karnataka, inaugurated the Expo by cutting the ribbon and lighting

during the inauguration of this event.
The chairman of the event Mr G. Ashok along with event secretary Mr S. Shashiraj and team left no stone

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONSBuilders' Association of India Mysore
Centre along with Mysore Builders' Charitable Trust and the ladies wing S p o o r t h i c e l e b r a t e d t h e 7 2 n d Independence day on Wednesday 15th August in the MBCT premises. MBCT Managing Trustee A.R.Ravindra Bhat hoisted the National Flag. BAI Mysore Chairman K Subramanya Rao, Spoorthi President Smt Shvetha Dinesh and many trustees and members participated in the celebration to commemorate the Indian Independence.
Later Spoorthi members participated in the Independence Day celebration at Sajjan School located in Vishweshwara Nagar where Spoorthi President Smt Shvetha Dinesh was the guest of honour. Spoorthi donated 30 sports T shirts for the students.
With freedom in mind, faith in words, pride in heart, memories in our souls, we saluted the Nation on independence day.

SECOND MANAGING & GENERAL COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETING AT VIZAGThe 2nd MC/GC meeting for the year 2018-19,
was held on 4th August 2018 at Visakhapatnam and
was hosted by all the Centres in Andhra Pradesh.The meeting was attended by our Chairman Sri
Subramanya Rao, along with GC & MC members - Sri
N.S. Muralidhara, Sri U. M. Gurushanthappa, Sri M.C
Mallikarjun and Sri N. P. Vishwanath.This time we all attended the meeting along with
our spouse. We reached Vishakapatnam on 3rd August at 11:00am. After having lunch, we went for site seeing. We visited the famous “Simhachalam” temple about
22 kms from Vishakapatnam. This temple dates back to 11th century AD and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is
worshipped here as 'Varaha Narasimha'. We had a wonderful darshan of Lord Vishnu.After darshan at the temple we came back to Vishakapatnam and visited the Air Force Museum and Submarine
Museum. The actual submarine “INS Kurusura” is the museum situated on Ramkrishna beach. A visit to airforce and
submarine museum will rejuvenate a feeling of patriotism and pride for our country . After the sightseeing, we went to the venue of the 2nd MC/GC meeting to register our names. A grand gala
dinner was arranged for all the members and their families.Next day, i.e., 4th August, the 2nd MC/GC meeting started at dot 10.00am. Reports were submitted and
discussed by Chairmen of various functional committees like Taxation committee, GST committee, Legal &
Arbitration committee, BAI Image Building committee, etc.... A lot of deliberations took place and latest position
was reviewed on implementation of GST, RERA, ESIC/PF and Steel matters. Accounts of Income & Expenditure
from 01.04.2018 to 30.06.2018 was submitted. The managing committee took note of new members along with the new centres and approved the same. The
committee also approved to create a portal/website for live tenders. The meeting ended after finalising the dates of
3rd MC/GC meeting at delhi on11th
December 2018.The most joyous moment for us

Valedictory function of Shilpi Internship programme for final year students of seven engineering colleges in and
around Mysore was held on 7th of August at MBCT auditorium. Chairman, Sri K Subramanya Rao welcomed the august gathering and briefed about the activities of SHILPI wing
of BAI Mysuru centre. Speaking on this occasion, Chief Guest of the function Dr. Sunil Jajit, DGM and Head HR, L&T
ECC-Construction Bangalore, appealed students to get practical knowledge and experience by attending such
internship training programs. He appreciated BAI Mysuru for arranging such programmes for the benefit of
students. He also emphasised that students should have three 'E's in mind i.e., 'Education, Exposure and
Experience' to become a professional and successful Engineers. He also said a good construction engineer must be
prepared to work at all stages starting from planning till the final execution of the project.
BEFITTING VALEDICTORY FOR SHILPI INTERNSHIP
Sri. S Prakash, Past Chairman and also the SHILPI
Advisor, encouraged the students and asked them to
utilise the benefits of such training programmes which will
help them in getting placed at various reputed
Construction Companies. Vote of thanks was rendered
by SHILPI coordinator Sri. Mahabaleshwara Bairy. It was
a challenging task for SHILPI coordinators Sri
Mahabaleshwara Bairy, Sri Rajesh Darira, Sri V. Gurudatt,
Sri Ravi Ratnakara, Sri Ravi R, Sri Ramesh Rao and Sri
Vinodkumar in arranging internship to 188 students at
major Construction projects in and around Mysore.
Renovation of the heritage building of Maharaja College
and Construction of Flyover at ring road and Hunsur road
junction are few of the project sites where internship was
conducted. Spoorthi, the ladies wing of BAI Mysuru
headed by President Smt Shveta Dinesh and team
distributed Certificates to students. BAI members, HOD
and Faculties of Engineering Colleges were present.
Trophies were given for the best three Project Reports

Mr. G A Suresh Kumar popularly known as GAS, left for his heavenly abode on 17th August 2018. A very sad loss
indeed. GAS always had a compulsive and mischievous smile on his face, which really added to his charm and endeared
himself to one and all.A very soft spoken person with a wonderful sense of humour, would team up with the Late Sri S N Nadig and the
duo would generally keep the company in splits of laughter. He also hummed and sang many a melodious songs
when in the spirited mood. He also had a very peculiar way of folding his half sleeves shirts and T shirts.GAS was also a very diligent member, particularly when it came to accounts, which had to bear his rigorous
scrutiny. In his passing, BAI Mysore has lost a true friend and a committed member. We at BAI, pray to the almighty
to give the family the necessary strength to bear this loss.– Ajit Narayan K
