Regent Street Flagship Store
Opening a huge flagship store in Regent Street in a prime location was always going to be a huge gamble not only financially but also with our customer base it needed to be something new
and totally fresh to appeal to a much wider audience and showcase all our lines. One of the main focal points for the store is the grand staircase with a wall dedicated to showcasing some
stunning modern art pieces and the huge interactive video screen. Hanging from above the bespoke chandelier produced by Roll & Hill New York. One of my favourite elements for this project
is the use of really heavy industrial looking fixtures and the carpet that runs through formal wear a geometric print by Ege that provides a really distinctive and elegant feel.
Covent Garden Store Concept
When we took on this project it used to be offices and took a huge amount of work to restore and create an inspiring space for the customer. A beautiful Regency town house mixed with some
very modern design elements such as the silver globe lights in the entrance hall and a bold move on my part by convincing our Creative Director we should install a leopard print carpet runner
all the way up the classical staircase. Think ageing Rockstar in residence that’s the look I wanted to create. Also had an Art Student Izzy Meluish draw the downstairs mural
which was great exposure for her.

Before and after pictures of the staircase
I was inspired to really be different and go bold and rock star with a leopard print carpet runner up the stunning Regency cantilever staircase. This themed with dark charcoal walls and a myriad
of taxidermy crows perched on branches as you walked up the stairs created a rather macabre but very cool focal point as you wandered up floor by floor
I also had a number of stone busts lovingly hand crafted on the Holkham Hall Estate in Norfolk which were later rolled out as signature props in franchises across the globe
Spitalfields Store Concept
The Hackett store in Spitalfields was always going to be conceptual and something different. You can see a real departure from what we would normally do such as raw brickwork and plaster.
I love taxidermy and introduced plenty of it to create a really fun element and I have plenty of stories about the giraffe. I also bought a vintage billiards table which I had restored and placed
in the basement level. All the artwork and furniture would be available to our customers to purchase so I would always be looking for really interesting key pieces to place in the store
such as vintage trunks from Paris and the vintage leather clubs chairs.

Hackett has a huge presence in Europe with retail stores in all the major cities here you can see the Milan flagship store which was opened to ensure our global profile as a luxury retailer. There
all also examples of Barcelona, Frankfurt and Hamburg all very different stores with really a residential feeling. Customers should feel like they are walking through a gentleman’s townhouse.

I have worked on all our fashion shows during men’s collection week everything from The London Opera House to the crypt of St Paul’s cathedral where we used super model
Erin O Connor to close the show. I have also worked on many of our photo shoots sourcing furniture and props and styling on the day of the shoot.

All though i am not a fan of themed rooms they can be great fun and often bring out the big kid in all of us. They can be a real
joy to work on. Here you can see some inspirational spaces used for reference and some fantasy rooms created with a specific
brief in mind styled by myself in collaboration with televisions well known interior designer Edward Robinson
with whom i was fortunate to work for on several occasions.
