EXAMPLE
CALENDAR DAY 12AM–12AM NEXT CALENDAR DAY 12AM–12AM
NIELSEN PRODUCTION DAY IS 6AM–6AM. CALENDAR DAY IS 12AM–12AM.
CALENDAR DAY VS. NIELSEN DAY
THE CALENDAR DAY IS 12AM–12AM.
THE NIELSEN PRODUCTION DAY IS 6AM–6AM.
A Nielsen Broadcast or Production day starts at 6:00am on the first calendar day and ends at 5:59am of the next calendar
day. Events cannot cross the broadcast day within the Eastern time zone – if an event begins at 5:00am Eastern and ends
at 7:00am, it is split into two events; the first from 5:00am to 6:00am and the second from 6:00am to 7:00am (However,
the lineup entries can cross the broadcast day – Central time zone stations in the 6:00am to 7:00am event would be at
5:00am)
Within an event, lineup entries that cross a broadcast day must be split and have the correct MOPs (Minute Of Programs)
assigned. For example, station XXXX carries a program from 5:30am to 6:30am The first part of the lineup entry would be
5:30am for 30 minutes with a MOP of 1, while the second part of the lineup entry would be 6:00am for 30 minutes with a
MOP of 31.
If an event crosses a broadcast day, it must be split and named differently. For example, if the program named Program AM
airs from 5:30am to 6:30am. The first program name would be Program AM1 at 5:30am for 30 minutes, while the second
program name would be Program AM2 at 6:00am for 30 minutes.

For example, the Nielsen Monday begins at 6am during Calendar Monday. The period of 12am-5:59am
is part of Calendar Monday but since it falls before 6am, it is considered part of last week’s Nielsen Sunday.

INTERNAL LINEUP CHECK
Nielsen can only extract days that are free of conflicts and have been marked Ready To Release (RTR). To release your
lineup to Nielsen, you must complete any changes. You must then mark your schedule, report order and lineup as
Ready To Release (RTR). Finally, you must perform an Internal Lineup Check.
An Internal Lineup Check compares entries in your program lineups to the changes you requested to ensure no duplication
exists in stations, dates, times and programs.
To run the INTERNAL LINEUP CHECK, select Utilites from the menu bar at the top of the page,
then choose Internal Lineup Check. (The process may run for a few minutes.)
If you get the Conflict Check box, click OK. This means you do not have any conflicts and the program entries
that have been marked Ready To Release (RTR) have been moved to Ready To Extract (RTE).
The day turns the appropriate color based on the Ready to Extract entry in the Grid Legend on the Schedule Grid page.
