Introduction

At the College, we have various platforms that our student body can interact with.

The myday platform makes it easy for students to manage their student life by centralising all the information they need in one intuitive place.

myday provides single-sign-on functionality, so that you are only required to log in to myday, and in most cases (not all, yet), will not need to log in again to other systems and services that can be accessed via myday

Logging On

myday can be accessed via a web browser on any device with a connection to the internet, at

https://wcs.mydaycloud.com

Or, via a mobile app – see the section towards the end of this user guide for information regarding this

Logon details to use with myday – either via a web browser, or mobile app are:

Username = your college email address (student reference [email protected])

Password = the password you use to logon to college computers

If accessing myday via a college computer that you’re already logged on to, you shouldn’t need to re-enter your logon details (depending on which web browser you are using)

Timetable

The MyTimetable tile provides access to a view of the schedule of classes you are enrolled upon, as recorded on our Students Records system

The default view is the current week. You can change the view to Day or Month, look at future or past dates, or view upcoming activities in an Agenda list. By clicking on a timetable entry you will be able to see further details on the activity.

Attendance

The MyAttendance tile provides access to a view of the registration details your lecturers have recorded on our Students Records system

Based on the registration details recorded, indicators and a chart will show a summary of your Attendance and Punctuality, and a list that can be drilled through to see registration entries, with regards to activities that have occurred in the date range selected.

The default date range selection shows information regarding the current week. You can change the date range to show information relating to, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, or a Custom Date Range.

Back at the myday Home dashboard, a tile is also available to allow you to submit a Self-Certification form

Email

The college provides each student with an Office 365 email account for use during their studies with WCS. The email addresses are of format = student reference [email protected].

Through the MyEmail tile, emails can be read or sent, and there is also a link to use email directly on Office 365 if that is preferred.

Personalising

At the top of each dashboard you’ll find a Personalise option. This allows you change the layout, size & colour of tiles, and remove some tiles that are not important to you – to give you your own personalised dashboard

Note, there are two dashboard views, desktop and mobile – if you change something on one of the views, the change will not carry through to the other view.

You can personalise the Mobile App dashboard via a web browser on a computer as well - from the myday page, select Switch to Mobile from the menu accessed at your name on top right of page, and then the Personalise option at the top of the page.

Mobile Apps

myday can be accessed via a mobile app downloadable from:

The Google Play store for Android phones

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mydaycloud.app&hl=en_GB or

The Apple App store for iPhones

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/myday/id1027451325?mt=8

Note, the generic myday app should be used for West College Scotland:

App name: myday

App icon:

There are other myday apps available, but these are specific to other organisations

Logon details to use with myday via a mobile app are the same as when using a web browser:

Username = your college email address (for a student this is, student reference [email protected])

Password = the password you use to logon to college computers

All of the resources available through a web browser, are also available through the mobile apps. It is just the layout that’s different

Coming Soon – News, events and Alerts

At the top of the myday page or App, you will see a little bell icon – this will at a later stage be where you find important alerts sent out by the college. These alerts will relate to news or events items, for which there will be tiles added in the future as well.

We also have outline plans and thoughts on a whole host of other tiles to introduce in the future. And we’re really interested to hear about what you advise would be useful additions – so please tell us via the survey tile or bookmarks.
