Our free range playtimes are off to a great start

Playtime makes up 20% of the time that children spend at school, so we

want to make sure that children get every opportunity to build their

physical, emotional, social and intellectual development…. and to have

LOTS of fun while they’re doing it.

Working alongside OPAL, over

the next 12 months, children will

be offered new challenges and

allowed to play with a range of

new equipment and resources. As

we introduce new play items, we

will use play assemblies to talk

through the potential risks, as well

as develop a set of boundaries

agreed with the children so that

they know what they can and can’t do with the

resources available to them.

This week, we introduced tyres, crates and chair

tops. You can see from the photographs how

much fun we had.

We’ll keep you updated as we introduce new

resources and will be inviting all of you to come

and play alongside us on TUESDAY 26th

NOVEMBER from 3:15 to 4pm. Please put the

date in your diary!

You may find that your child is a little

dirtier when they arrive home, but we promise

that the experiences and learning that will have taken place have been

worth the mess. Please let them wear clothes and coats to school that they

are allowed to get dirty.

Huge thanks to the Friends of Myatt Garden for their fabulous support.

You’re helping to make our playtimes amazing!!

Anti-Bullying Week

We will be marking Anti-Bullying week at Myatt Garden (W/B Monday

11th November) in a number of ways - special assemblies, lessons in class

and the launch of our new children’s leaflet on bullying.

We will also be raising awareness by celebrating our

individuality and what makes us all unique with Odd

Socks Day on Tuesday 12th . It’s easy and we’d love

everyone to get involved!

No Idling Banners - PLEASE HELP !!

We are keen to get some banners up outside of the school reminding all

families about the importance of switching off car engines and not idling.

But we need more art work. Can you help us out this weekend? We’re

asking children to paint, crayon or use felt tips to create colourful pictures

of traffic, congestion, pollution, etc. that we can use to fill the letters inside

our message about clean air, avoiding unnecessary car journeys and idling.

A YEAR OF 'FUN' RAISING

The Friends of Myatt Garden needs to raise £20,000 this year, supporting the new Playground Develop-ment Project and educational enrichment activities for all our children. This is £10K more than previous years and we know we can do this together.

See our Friends of Myatt Garden noticeboards for more details.

How You Can Help with our Fun-Raising

The FOMG will hold a number of 'fun' raising events throughout the year. We would love you to come along and enjoy these events. The first date for your calendar is the Christmas Party on 29th Novem-ber, with a Christmas Disco, raffle prizes, treats and food.

They will come direct from our Kent farm to your doorstep, deliv-ered by our very own Christmas Elves.
