Most international organizations have not had access to Laiza since September 2014, where almost fifty per cent of IDPs in non-government areas are living. National NGOs have access to all areas of Kachin and continue to provide assistance to IDPs in these areas. Fighting in the Kokang Self-Administered Zone continued, but the MNDAA declared a unilateral ceasefire on 11 June. The Myanmar Red Cross Society has had access and provided some assistance. International organizations continue to advocate for access. OVERVIEW >500,000 people in need of humanitarian assistance The Rakhine State Government and international organizations are working to repair and maintain shelters for displaced people in Rakhine. Some 2,000 displaced households have received government assistance to rebuild their homes. Many of the temporary shelters were built over two years ago and many have reached the end of their initial life-span. On 22 May, a boat with over 200 people was rescued off the coast of Rakhine State by the Myanmar Navy. On 29 May, another boat with over 700 onboard was rescued off the coast of Ayeyarwady State. People from the boats are receiving assistance from state authorities, UN agencies and INGOs. On 8 June, 150 nationals of Bangladesh were repatriated.
