I believe that all students can learn. Each student has their own personal way of understanding material.

I believe the teacher is in the classroom as a facilitator of knowledge. Teachers are there to help students rise to their full potential.

I believe children have differing learning styles. The teacher needs to teach to as many different styles as possible.

I believe in creating a safe, positive learning environment. Ensuring students they are in a safe place will allow them to throw their worries away.

I believe students are the future. We need to prepare them now so they are better prepared then.

“The clothes line” will be attached to the bottom of the child’s chair. On the string, at the beginning of each day, will be three clothes pins. By following the rules and working well with others students will earn a reward at the end of the week. I will be keeping track of the amount of clothes pins the child keeps at the end of each day.

If the student has a certain amount of clothes pins at the end of the week they will be rewarded by the following. 15-10 clothes pins: prize from the treasure chest. 9-5 clothes pins: Teacher/Student discussion on how we can fix

the behavior next week. A note will also be sent home about the behaviors. The parent/guardian will sign the note and send it back.

Less than 5 clothes pins: Meeting with the principle, parent/guardian and myself.

Students will receive an activity on Monday to take home. It will need to be done and brought back on Friday.

Friday, students will discuss the activity and share stories about the activity.

I will also encourage family nights monthly. During these nights, families will be entertained, receive dinner, and do an activity as a family.

Daycare students are learning about the importance of healthy foods. They are drawing their picture of a healthy food on one side of their paper and a treat food on the other. They are telling us about their pictures.
