I am Renier C. Calumpang, 19 years old. I was born on July 09, 1996. I am currently residing at Guiwanon, Ginatilan, Cebu and currently studying at Cebu Technological University -Moalboal Campus. I am a third year student taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Industrial Technology.

Educational Technology in a Nutshell

Technology comes from a Greek word “techne”, which means craft or art . Educational Technology ”, means it refers to the art or craft of responding to educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process.

Educational Technology is taught in school for the learners to come up easily in the modern world. In this subject, the students can learn how they can use technology to have a better

learning. It is one of the best way to integrate learning and information to ourselves.


Educational Technology is a field of study which is concerned with the practice of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning process.

It one of the terms associated with educational technology. It is a application of technology to any of those processes involved operating the instructions which house the educational enterprise


• Technology refers to all the ways people use their inventions to satisfy their needs and desires

• Educational Technology includes all educational invention – old and new satisfy our human need to learn

• Education Technology is the development, application and evaluation of systems, techniques and aids to improve the process of human learning.

• Educational technology is a complex , integrated process involving people , procedures ,ideas ,devices , and organization for analyzing problems and devising , implementing , evaluating and managing solution.


In this lesson, it stated that being computer literate has something to do with learning. One can improve his skills in reading and writing just by using computer.

The Internet has been an instrument known, not only here in the Philippines, but in the entire world. The very powerful Internet which helps us to gain lots of information and data.


Great help for teachers since they can already enhance their teaching skills and strategies every time the are facing their class.

Technology is very essential for both the students and the teacher but there are some instances wherein this technology is seen to be disadvantageous for both of them as well.

It concerns an array of tools, such as media, machines, and networking hardware, as well as considering underlying theoretical perspectives for their effective application.


The Internet and Education

• Internet-largest and far-flung network system-of-all-systems.

• Through Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol everything can be coordinated through the internet.

• The most attractive way to move around the internet browsing. Using a program called a browser.


Technology Integration

It is the use of technologies to introduce, reinforce supplement and extent skills. The quality of instruction is improved into a high level.

It can provide opportunities to respond to instructional issues/problem.


Five Domains of Educational Technology

There are five domains of education technology. These are the design, development, utilization, evaluation and management. We should considered these domains to create an effective instructional materials for the learners. To know if you need to improve your materials and revise it to an effective one.


The Computer as a Tutor

• One of the wonders of human ingenuity. With the invention of microcomputer, the PC has become the tool for programmed instruction.

• They saw its potential for individualization in learning.• Computer-assisted instruction (CAI)-it can be a tutor in

effect relieving the teacher of many activities in his/her personal role as classroom tutor. The computer has indeed succeeded in providing an individualized learning environment.

Learning in Educational Technology 1The Education Technology 1 has truly paved the way for

the learner to become aware, appreciative and equipped to use educational technology 1 tools ranging from traditional to modern educational media.

Using instructional material is an effective way of engaging the students to the real world situation. Nowadays, the teahers are discussing their lesson with the use of instructional medias Also, based on observation, the technology help us to have a better learning. We can easily understand and receive the information.

Truly, the foundation for a truly satisfying exposure to educational technology has been firmly laid down by the ET- 1 course, starting with the through treatment of the history of educational technology, quality education, and the roles of ET in the 21th millennium.


Learning in Educational Technology 2Educational technology 2 is concerned with “Integrating

Technology into Teaching and Learning.” Specifically this is focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary users of educational technology. Mainly directed to student teachers, also professional teachers who may wish to update their knowledge of educational technology, it is our goal that this course can help our target learners to weave technology in teaching with software (computer programmed learning materials) becoming a natural extension of their learning tools.


I learned a lot of things after studying Educational Technology 1 and Educational Technology 2. I learned that Educational Technology is a big help for us, especially us (education students) future educator, to be acquainted with the different uses of technology in education.

Educational technology 1 and 2 is concerned with “Integrating Technology into Teaching and Learning.” Specifically this is focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary users of educational technology.


There are many reasons why educational technology is very important. There is a purpose why educational technology is taught in schools. Because educational technology 1 and 2 wants the student to know what is the use and how to use the instructional media in relation to education/teaching

A future educator must know the know the right use of instructional medias so that the computer will never replace the teacher. The teacher must be the one who will manipulate the computer, it is just a material that will help the teacher and the student to be more connected to one another.


The technology will also help the teacher to easily give chances to the students that can excel in class by applying medias/computers in their learning process. There are instances that student is actively participating in the class when they are engage in using technology. In other words, the technology has a big role in the field of learning.

Technology plays an important role in the study habits and

skills of the students. But, we need to make sure that we

are going to be very careful in allowing our students to use

the computer and surf the internet for them to avoid

discovering things that are not part of their studies. It is

always important to let them used some of these

technology in education as often as it is in order to prevent

forgetting the basic way studying.

learners. When we say 21st century learners the students
