MEDIA PHOTO SHOOT!

Page 2: My Photo shoot (Media)

This is a medium close up and a eye level shot of my model. She is dressed in all black and uses dark makeup to represent the genre as this is what artists and the audience of heavy metal/ rock dress like . As she is on a grey background she stands out but does not look to plain. My model is looking directly in the camera this is so that she is looking at the audience which makes them feel persuaded to read the magazine and feel like they have to read it. This photo is not edited and I am not intending on using it in my magazine as I think that there are better photos I have taken which represent the genre more where the model is posing.,

This photo is similar to the first one accept this one the models mouth is slightly open to break up tension in the face. This is also a medium close up and a eye shot level. This photo is not edited in any way and if I were to use this image in my magazine I would use it as a free poster advertisement as the model is central on the image and you can clearly see her on the background. However I am not using this photo in my magazine as I feel that there are better images of this model taken which shows more clearly the genre as this image is plain and simple which does not match the genre of rock and heavy metal as the artists are usually posing or in a humorous pose.

This is a medium close up and a eye level shot of the model . In this image her mouth is partly open so that it also breaks tension in the face and to add sexual tension to the photo which represents the artists story and article as it is about her bad behaviour. The pose also makes her seem more intimidating to readers as she is looking at them makes it seem that she is looking at the reader which is intimidating. I did intent to use this image for my front cover as you could fit plugs down the right side however I feel that other photos will represent the genre more clear.

Page 3: My Photo shoot (Media)

This is a mid shot at eye level. The model is lifting up her collar to show her bad attitude and misbehaviour through her poses and her clothing. She is also making direct eye contact with the reader which is intimidating and trying to make a bad impression to them. She is also almost smirking in the picture this gives the impression like she knows that people are watching her bad behaviour and like she is proud of it which is the impression I wanted to get across. I will use this image on my front cover as the main image as there is room down the right side for plugs.

This is a mid shot of the model taken at eye level. In this image the model is making direct eye contact with the camera and also crossing her arms. This relates to the artists attitude of ‘ I don’t care’ this could represent that she has a rude and unfriendly personality which would make readers want to find out more about her. This relates to the rock genre as rock artists want to be intimidating and this would relate to the music for being aggressive and promoting having a bad attitude. I would use this photo on my double page spread however I have chosen not to use this image as I think that other images represents the genre better and have better lighting on.

This is a mid shot taken at eye level. This photo represents the genre as she has one hand on her hip which could show that she is annoyed or angry and that she is not an approachable person which relates to her lifestyle of having a bad attitude. This relates to the style of rock music as it is often angry which she is showing in her pose. By making eye contact with the reader makes them feel like she is annoyed at them and that they feel more obliged to read the article. I would use this photo on my double page spread however I will not be using it as I think that other images represent her lifestyle more.

Page 4: My Photo shoot (Media)

This is an extreme close up of the eye taken at eye level with the model. By covering the models mouth makes her look suspicious and mysterious which would make the readers want to read about her. It also focuses on her eye and dark eye makeup which relates to the rock / heavy metal genre of the magazine rock is associated with dark and heavy makeup. I would use this image on my double page spread however I am choosing not to feature this image on my double page spread as I want to use a mid shot to show the artists clothing as well so that it represents the genre more.

This is a medium close up taken at eye level of the model. In this pose is she is making a ‘shh’ signal with her hand. This could represent her secrets and her lifestyle which she does not want people to know about. This relates to the character of this artist as she lives a rebellious and dangerous lifestyle. If I were to use this photo it would be on the front cover of my magazine so that people immediately wonder what she is hiding when they look at the cover. However I chose not to use this image as it does not represent her character of being a rebel enough as other images.

This is a mid shot also taken at eye level. In this image the model is posing so she is looking back at the camera while lifting up her collar. This pose would represent the genre as by lifting up her collar shows her misbehaviour and rebellious behaviour which rock stars lifestyles are typically like. She is making eye contact with the camera which in the magazine would make the readers feel like she is looking at them so they feel more engaged in the story. As I is a mid show you get to see more of the artists clothing which would also represent the genre as she is in all black clothing and leather jacket which represents rock and the style they have. I will use this image on my double page spread.

This photo is for the editors section of my magazine. This is a medium close up to show clearly the editors face. And also a eye level shot She is also smiling to show that the editor is friendly and so that readers feel comfortable reading her column and not intimidated by the editor. She is also dressed in a plain and simple clothing so that to much information is not given away about her so that readers have an unbiased opinion her column rather than making assumptions about her. I will be using this photo on my contents page in the editors section as it portrays the editor is a happy and friendly way also as you can clearly see her face.

This is a mid shot taken at eye level of the model. She is holding her hands as a simple pose so that no assumptions could be made about the editor and it is not representing any negative emotions from the reader. She is also smiling again to show happiness and friendliness to the reader so that they feel involved and welcomed into her section about the magazine. I will not be using this photo as I think the other photo would be more suited for an editor as it does not show her body and just her face as to much information does not want to be given away. Also the lighting is better on the other photo as you can see her more clearly.

Page 6: My Photo shoot (Media)

This is a medium close up taken at eye level of the model. She is showing a blank emotion which represents the rock genre as she is not looking happy or showing any positive enthusiasm. I will use this image on my front cover as an advertisement for a free poster special. I have chosen to do a medium close up to show more clearly the heavy eye make up which readers would instantly be able to recognise and identify the genre from a distance.

This is a mid shot taken at eye level. In this pose the model is demonstrating the rock hand sign. This makes the genre more clear as it is showing that it is a rock magazine as it Is a well known hand gesture representing rock. The model is also sticking her tongue out this could show that she is disgusted, rudeness or could be seen as a sexual gesture. As my magazine is mainly aimed at males this would attract them and make them want to read more about her. By doing a mid shot it shows her outfit which represents the genre as it is black and a Guns N Roses t-shirt. This would also attract fans of Guns N Roses to as they would want to read about her if she is interested in the same band as them. If I were to use this image in my magazine I would use Photoshop to make the background colour of the image black from the backdrop. However I will not be using this image in my magazine as I feel that there is other photos of the model which represent the genre more as her face is not representing the genre as it is plain which does not fit the genre.

Page 7: My Photo shoot (Media)

These are medium close ups taken of the model. She is pulling a rock pose with her hand which clearly represents the rock genre and would be easy to identify the genre buy. She is also sticking out her tongue this could show that she is disgusted, rudeness or could be seen as a sexual gesture. As my magazine is mainly aimed at males this would attract them and make them want to read more about her. In this photo she is also wearing dark clothing and a Guns N Roses top which immediately shows that it is a rock magazine and it is that genre. From doing the medium close up you can also see her eye makeup in more detail which would attract the female audience as they would see her as a icon and want to see how she does her makeup for inspiration as heavy dark makeup is popular in the rock genre. I have chosen not to use these two images in my magazine as I feel that other images of the artist I had take were better as one was a medium long shot which showed her outfit which I feel represents the genre well as I have not used a medium long shot of a female in my magazine so it adds more of an variety to the images that I would be using in my magazine.

Page 8: My Photo shoot (Media)

This an medium long shot of my model taken at eye level. The model is wearing ripped tights, black skirt, black Guns N Roses top and a black leather jacket. This represents rock and heavy metal style which would appeal to the audience as they wear clothes like this. The ripped tights are an example that people who are interested in that genre of music do not have neat or put together outfits they are often messy, baggy and ripped. The model is also wearing dark eye makeup similar to my other model this represents the genre and is a trend to the audience. Her hair is also messy and not neat this also represents the genre as they do not take care in their appearance and you can easily identify that it is a rock magazine from using this image. She is posed so that she is showing black emotions and not smiling. This represents the genre as rock is not a happy genre it is more angry/ annoyed and aggressive which is shown in the photo. I would use this photo on my contents page as an added feature however I have chosen not to use it as there are images which express her emotions better and represent the genre better.

This is a medium long shot taken at eye level. I choose this shot as I wanted to capture the models outfit which represents the genre well as it is all dark, ripped tights and a baggy Guns N Roses top. This would appeal to the target audience as it is the style of clothing which they would wear and be interested in. From this image you can easily identify the genre which would also attract the target audience as they would know immediately it is a rock/ heavy metal magazine. In this pose she has her hand on her hip and pushing back her hair. This pose would attract the male audience of my magazine as it makes her look more sexual which they would be interested in. I have chosen to use this image on my contents page. I will use the tools in Photoshop to make the background of this image black From the backdrop.

Page 9: My Photo shoot (Media)

This is a mid shot of my model taken at eye level which is a neutral shot. I used a mid shot so that you can see the models clothing which is plain, baggy and is wearing dull colours which represents the genre as it is not colourful it is dark and dull and mostly the clothes rock artists/ fans wear is black or dark dull colours which is shown in this image. The artist is holding the guitar as a prop which represents that he is rock artist and it makes the rock audience find out more information on him if they do not know who he is. He is also clearly showing his tattoos and ear stretcher this shows that he is fearless and has been through pain which represents the genre of my magazine as that is what the music is about. It also represents the genre as he would be seen as an icon to the audience with all the body modifications and tattoos as it is very popular with the genre. I will be using the image on the left on my contents page as he is looking more aggressive and angry in that image which represents the genre more as the music of rock / heavy metal is angry and aggressive.

Page 10: My Photo shoot (Media)

These images are both mid shots of the model. He is posing so that both hands are in his pockets so that he looks bored and unsatisfied. This would relate to the rock / heavy metal genre because the music is not usually happy which I am trying to portray in the emotions of the model. The model is looking directly into the camera which is intimidating to the reader as he also has his hands in his pockets which makes him seem intimidating and unimpressed with the reader which makes them want to know more information about him. The model/ artist is also wearing an ear stretcher this body modification also represents the genre in the image as it shows that he is not afraid of pain and he is not fearful as this modification is a painful thing to do which would attract the target audience as it has become a popular thing to do which is mainly done by rock artists or rappers to show that they bold, brave and un fearful which relates to the rock music. These photos were taken to be for a poster special. However I am not using them in my magazine as I think that I have taken better images of him where it shows more of his identity and represents more of the genre when he is showing his arm tattoos.

This is a mid shot of my model . He is crossing his arms as a defensive shield which could show that he is blocking out the outside world. It could also show that he is annoyed, angry or unimpressed. This would relate to the rock/ heavy metal genre as it is not a positive genre which is shown in the image as his emotions are straight and not showing any positive signs. By crossing his arms you can also clearly see his tattoos which would stand out and be eye catching to the target audience on the front cover. I will be using this image on the front cover of the magazine as a free poster special as you can clearly see the artist and I feel that it represents the genre well.

Page 11: My Photo shoot (Media)

This is a three shot and also a long shot of the models. They are dressed in dark clothing, baggy clothing and denim to show the alternative rock genre. One of the models is also wearing dark eye makeup and lipstick to represent the genre as they would instantly be recognisable as an alternative rock band . The expression on the models faces show no expression and they also look uninterested which makes them seem cooler as they are showing no enthusiasm to the photo being taken. and I have used a long shot to show all of the outfits from the models as they represent the genre. I will be using this image on my front cover as one of the 3 free giant poster special. This photo is ideal for that purpose as you can clearly see the models and they are placed as a band would be placed with the lead artist placed in the centre.

In these two images it is taken at a high angle shot. This is to show the whole of the models outfit which represents the rock genre as he is dressed in boots, skinny jeans and a baggy top. Also tattoos often relate to rock genre and the audience would be appealed to the magazine by his image and would be interested in the magazine. The model also has a stretched ear this represents that it is a rock magazine as a lot of rock artists have stretched ears and would also attract the audience. I have used the guitar as a prop in this magazine as the guitar is the type that would be used by a heavy metal / rock artist and would make the reader interested in why he is holding the prop as their could be possible information on a gig from the artist and also makes the genre more clear and easier to identify from the audience. I will be using the photo on the left on my contents page.
