This group of pilgrims called "The Edupunk" are seeking a new paradigm for online learning. We hold to several core principles:

„Edupunk English is the course offering by George (the author of this blog) at WizIQ http://

www.wiziq.com/myeslfriends an online learning portal.  The main goals of this course are:

1.    English Fluency

2.    Affordable

3.    Interesting & fun

4.    Friendly

English fluency, particularly in spoken English, has become one of the biggest needs world-wide.  At Edupunk

English, we will focus primarily on activities that will challenge and grow your ability to speak comfortably.  There

are no secrets in our methods.  The more you talk, the better you will become both at speaking clearly and

without effort (fluency). George is not a traditional “teacher," rather he is an accomplished coach and encourager. 

A constant focus on technique and practice will produce results that no amount  of traditional classes will give.”

When I first met George Machlan in 2010, I knew nothing about Virtual Classes. He was my brilliant and very patient mentor on WizIQ.

This was him who taught me how to function online, moreover I learnt from him almost everything I know about teaching online. He is the creator of Edupunk Movement.

He has been an amazing leading light, teammate, passionate teacher, creative language coach, and I will always appreciate George’s encouragement, support as well as tutoring awareness. The Edupunk English course uses many methods to improve your

fluency.  With this “Karaoke English” class we focus on pronunciation

and accents.  We will use one of the songs (Curriculum Tab) each

month as a group activity. However you can work independently on

any song (song list HERE ) that you like.

About Dr. Nellie Deutsch

Dr. Nellie Deutsch is a leader and mentor to teachers worldwide on educational technology. She’s an English language teacher (EFL), an online teacher at WizIQ, a faculty member at Atlantic University Masters of Arts in Transpersonal and leadership studies, on the steering committee of TESOL CALL-IS, the program coordinator at WAOE, MOOC and conference organizer, moderator, researcher, writer, speaker, Reiki practitioner, and relationship-based consultant. Nellie provides consultation on Moodle (course and learning management system) and WizIQ. She mentors educators on how to integrate technology into blended, the flipped class, and fully online programs to facilitate instruction and learning.

Dr. Nellie Muller Deutsch is an enthusiastic, sincere, awesome, outgoing, experienced online and in-class teaching/learning facilitator. It is my great pleasure to have taken part in many of her online programs and I found her to be highly knowledgeable in supporting students’ involvement and education. Dr. Nellie has an excellent empathy with people. Her ability to connect with her students and her talent of teaching various topics are truthfully superior. She has outstanding communication skills, and is extremely well organized, dependable and proficient in computer skills. Creativity and a very positive attitude of Dr. Nellie’s make her the best tutor for us teachers as well as students. She is undoubtedly a remarkable person.Furthermore, it looks like she never sleeps, as every time I open my computer or go online I see her posting, creating a new course, inviting people to join all kinds of online activities.
