My Initial thoughts for my music videos.TRANSCRIPT
My Music Video IdeasBY DAISY GRANGE
Camera Style
This camera style involves the camera being attached to the actress. This is held on with a cable/ belt around her waist that the camera attaches to. However, this limits the shot types and angels that I can do in my music video. The style with only show mid shot o a flat angle and the camera will be static.
Artist
Name: Graceilla Mclean
Age:17
Genre:
Indie/pop
Status: Unsigned artist
Location; Dagenham/Essex
Appearance: Black Edgy Female
Narrative
In the video female protagonist goes back to where she used to live, an urban east-end area. She visits places that are very rough and they bring back childhood memories for the artist. She then reflects on far she has come and how much her life has changed.
Narrative shots; establishing shots of the area and the female visiting them.
Promotional shots; The artist singing into a microphone in a blacked out room with only a spotlight on her.
Visual concept; An girl wondering a familiar run down urban area.
The song
The 1975-The city
The 1975 are a indie rock band who are signed to Dirty hit record label. As this company it will be is massively popular easier to get permisso form them to use the song. Also, there is a music video to this but is very different from the narrative for my music video.

We will need…
Location
I'm looking to find a run-down area in a place like canning town. Similar to this image will later produce a location recee.
Editing
To edit I will use Final cut pro on the apple macs that are in school. When editing I will use a lot of straight cuts between narrative and promotional shots' will layer the two different types of shots a slowly fade one out so that the other shot becomes clearer to the audience. I will also experiment with a spilt screen. In my music video I may desaturate all of the narrative shots and put in in black and white to add emotion and a sense of a time gap between the two types of shots.
Mise-en-scene
My include..
Flats/tower block buildings
Old/run-down houses
Graffiti on buildings
Abounded areas and housing
Brick walls which actress can sit on
Full up rubbish bins
Lots of litter on the streets
Permissions
I will need permission to use the song will potentially get this from dirty hit records. To do this I will email them ask as them politely to use their song with get a copyright strike.
I hope to film in a public place within canning town so therefore I will not need permission to film there.
I will need permission from the actress to be able to use her as the main protagonist within my music video.

Little mix –little me
I really like the cinematography of this video especially the desaturation which makes the video look a lot more urban and run-down.
