MY LIFE IN 30 WORDS EXAMPLES

Finalizing Your Poem

Look over your brainstorming worksheet and pick out the words and ide-as that you think MOST represent you and your unique personality and

qualities. You can only use 30 words, so pick your words carefully.

Helpful Hints

Avoid just listing your favorite 30 things or 30 character traits. Add words and ideas to help your poem flow smoothly.

If you can’t fit all of your ideas into your poem, think about how you could represent those ideas on your poster visually.

Be creative and use descriptive words. Be yourself!

EXAMPLE POEMS

You can write your poem in 3rd person. (As if someone else is writing it about you.) Here’s an example:

Jason

Fiery trouble maker who torments his sister and frustrates his parents. He craves chocolate ice cream, pizza, and salty popcorn. Lives for retro video games and fishing with his buddies.

Or you can write it in 1st person. (From your own perspective.)

Here’s an example:

Caitlin I am a Spanish speaking, hamburger loving sister and daughter.

I dream of Paris, bungee jumping and become a nurse. Fast reader, expert “texter”, loud laugher, story teller and snowboarder.
