My kid is bored and I m losing it! Now what? Parents, Ive got your back! Below are some optional ideas for your child to do during this time at home. Please look over the lists carefully before you let your child loose on the internet. Where their eyes travel on the web should be monitored and approved by you, the parent, before they go to a website or view a video. What I would allow my child to see, you may not want yours to see. Thanks for sharing your kids with me at school. Let them know I miss them. Catherine Newsom Computer Teacher MAUE

Now what? Parents, I’ve got your back!

Always monitor where your child goes on the internet. Even though I have previewed these recommendations, all

suggestions may not be suitable for your child. That is a decision you will need to make as a parent.

YouTube Channels Always monitor what your child is watching on YouTube. All episodes may not be suitable for your child. I have previewed many episodes, yet there are some I would not want my third through fifth grader to watch alone. These channels I will put an** beside. Whiz Kids Love science experiments? Whiz Kids is a channel all about science! Activities Story Time. Begin a story with a single sentence. Then let you child continue the story. You can vary this game so that the story is told with alternating sentences or paragraphs. After you have decided how the story proceeds (sentences or paragraphs) alternate back and forth until the story is complete. To go one step further, publish your story. Add pictures, discuss the parts of a book and include those parts in your published work. Name Five. Choose a category such as states, flowers, animals and going through the alphabet, each player must name five things in that category. For example, if animals are the category, the first player could say aardvark, antelope, ant, anteater, ape. The next player starts with B: baboon, bee, bear, bullfrog, bird. Pinterest Check out Pinterest for art projects, coloring sheets, word searches, mazes, crosswords and more. When looking for coloring sheets etc, always type in free printable. This will save you from sorting through things you have to pay for.
