RawangRawang is a town in the district of Gombak,

Selangor.

It was the capital of Gombak until 1997.

Rawang has shown a tremendous growth since

the PLUS North South Highway was opened

on the mid-1990's. The population of Rawang

stands at 120,447 according to the GeoNames

geographical database.

Population GrowthSelangor has the largest population in Malaysia at 5,411,324 as

of 2010. The state's ethics compositions consists of Malay

52.9%, Chinese 27.8%, Indian 13.3%, and other ethnic groups

6%.

Air Quality

The development of industrial sector in Rawang area lead to huge negative impact to the environment.

For example, the cement production factory in Rawang area give negative impact to the air quality in Rawang

BiodiversityThe variety of life on Earth, its biological diversity is

commonly referred to as biodiversity. The number

of species of plants, animals, and microorganisms,

the enormous diversity of genes in these species, the

different ecosystems on the planet, such as deserts,

rainforests and coral reefs are all part of a biologically

diverse Earth.

Rawang is located in urban area therefore the

biodiversity of the area can be conclude as low.

Solid waste manage by Majlis

collection for each area.

Transport

The Rawang railway station is a railway station in

Rawang, Selangor, Malaysia that serves as both

the KTM Komuter (of the Rawang-Seremban

Route) and KTM Intercity train services.

A new and much bigger bus station located in

the heart of the new town area was completed

recently.

There are government Klinik Kesihatan in Rawang.

Besides that, Klinik 1Malaysia also provided in Rawang area.

There are a lot of private clinics in Rawangarea.

Green SpaceOn the trunk road, passengers are able to see

Templer's Park, Hutan Lipur Sg. Kanching and the

Commonwealth Forest Park. These are all forest

reserves and are hot spots for jungle trekking and

camping.

Hutan Lipur Kanching that well maintained

recreation park is located off the trunk road nr 1 to

Ipoh, between Selayang and Rawang. The first part is

perfectly suited for family trips.There are many nice

picnic spots along the small stream.

set the backdrop of a beautiful picnic

and camping spot.

Climate Change Climate change is a significant and lasting change

in the statistical distribution of weather patterns

over periods ranging from decades to millions of

years. It may be a change in average weather

conditions, or in the distribution of weather

around the average conditions

Even in Rawang area experience hot weather but it

still can’t classifies as tropical monsoon climate

Rawang is currently experiencing steep

development. Many new shops and houses are

being constructed. In 2006, a new central market

was opened to meet the increasing demand from

the population while recently a new police station,

bus and taxi stop were built.

The ecological footprint is a measure of human demand on the Earth's ecosystems. It is a standardized measure of demand for natural capital that may be contrasted with the planet's ecological capacity to regenerate.

It represents the amount of biologically productive land and sea area necessary to supply the resources a human population consumes, and to assimilate associated waste.
