Once again, I slept a lot, this time instead of sleeping from 2am to 1230. I went to sleep at 10pm and got up at around 1130.

Do you remember the word that Teacher Eric used on me for sleeping this much?

鼎王麻辣鍋 Ding Wong hotpot

I LOVE hot and spicy food, and because Teacher Tina, Ivy, Lauren and Yvonne keep on telling me that Ding Wong is a ‘must go’ place. So, on Sunday, I went there with my family.

Soup base

I had two: i) hot and spicy

ii) Pickled cabbage pot

I particularly like the hot and spicy soup base.

The soup is made from 32 Chinese herbs, more than ten kinds of fruits and vegetables.

For me, the soup isn’t quite spicy enough, but it certainly is very aromatic.

Tofu and duck blood puddingsI am a huge fan of duck blood puddings, so I was really looking forward to the duck blood puddings. However, the puddings were not simmered properly, so the taste was bloody.

But the tofu soaked up all the soup base, and it tasted lovely!

Pickled cabbage pot

I normally do not like anything that is pickled, except Korean Kimchi. Yet, I really enjoyed the pickled cabbage pot in Ding Wong. The soup is not too acidic [əˋsidik] , so it did not hurt my throat when I drank the soup.

What my family and I ordered:

-premium [ˋpri:miəm] beef -tripe [traip]牛肚

-boneless chicken -cattle tendon牛筋

• All the ladies in my family love eating cattle tendon, because it is full of collagen [ˋkɔlədʒən] 膠原蛋白 , and I like to the chewy texture口感 .

Hot and spicy meat balls

• The meat balls are made from freshly minced pork豬絞肉 and scallops [ˋskɔləp] 干貝 .

• They are so tiny, like the size my eyeballs.

Bean curd sheet 豆皮Often in a hotpot shop, customers can only get dried bean curd sheets, but in Ding Wong, the sheets are fresh! The texture is al dente and juicy.

Abalone [͵æbəˋləuni]

I love seafood, and when I was little, abalones were very cheap in New Zealand. So I used to eat abalones like snacks.

Beverage [ˋbevəridʒ]

Plum juice

For my cousin, becausehe cannot eat anything hot.

Rose tea

For the ladies, because on the menu it says the tea is full of vitamins A 、 B 、 C 、 D & E

Things that I did not like….

Tea pot

It weighs like a 100kg, each time when I wanted to have another sip of tea, I felt like I was weight-lifting.

No box seat

I felt like using my school microphone on Sunday, because the restaurant was so noisy!

Everyone needed to shout in order to be heard, so at the end, I felt like I was in a traditional market.
