My days in Germany

• We went to the airport at night by 10pm and saw all our friends, parents and even principal mam and German sir. Then we went inside the airport and all those checking happened and we waited till 1:50am (Monday) for the plane.

13th July 2014(Sunday)

Chennai airport Frankfurt Airport

• We then went into the flight and after travelling many hours we reached the Frankfurt (Germany) by 8:30 at the Monday morning.

Hannover airport

14th July 2014(Monday) And we rushed to the next plane to Hannover and it was just an

hour travel. Then we reached Hannover by 10:45 am. We took our check-in luggage and went outside the airport and saw our exchange partners standing there as a group. And then we all went with our partners to our host family’s house (in a village called Lauenhagen) by car. I reached my home at 11:15am. Aileen showed me the complete house which was quite big house with a huge and beautiful garden and then my room. I arranged all my things in the cupboard and set my things neatly aside. I gave my gifts to her, her parents and grandparents. They felt really happy..Then I refreshed and had my first food in her house which was obviously bread and some capsicum salad. And we both went out and she showed me the entire village. Then came back home talked a while and then went to Stadthagen to meet our group and then we dived ourselves and we saw almost the whole city where there was many historical buildings and museum and then we all went to one euro shops. We went back home.

15th July 2014(Tuesday)• Morning woke up at 6am, dressed up myself, drank

juice and • packed up lunch and went to the school Wilhelm Busch

Gymnasium at 7:30 am. • Then we had the welcome ceremony by the school band

and then a speech was given by the school principal. And then our teachers presented him a gift (painting).

• I ate my bread as my breakfast and we all went to our classes with our partners. So Aileen is in 10D and we had our geography class for 90 minutes

• After that we went to see the whole school including the labs, sports hall and classrooms and even staff rooms.

• Then we all went for bowling and went back home at 6pm.

• Had my dinner and I went out with Aileen to visit her aunt’s house and then came back home.

16th July 2014(Wednesday)• Got up at 6am• Went to school by car• As we didn’t have our first class we all went to Mc.D

with Aileen’s class mate• Walked back to school• Had our English class for 90 minutes(read a novel “13

reasons Why she committed suicide”)• Had a break• Then we had to start our project presentation• We were divided into 5 groups and we discussed the

answers for 4 questions:- 1. What is Biodiversity? 2. What is its importance? 3. What are the reasons for the loss of biodiversity? 4. What are the problems caused by the loss of Bio diversity to the living species?

• Then again we had a break• And then the presentation:- there were 5 groups in

Germany and 3 groups in India for the presentation

• Presentation by Germans• The 1st group talked about the Biodiversity world wide• 2nd group- Various species in Germany like mushrooms,

flowers, insects.etc.,• 3rd group-the variety of biodiversity in the lower

Saxony and their ecosystems• 4th group-Dangers to the biodiversity and they told

about the species in the red list• 5th group- How they protect the biodiversity

• Presentation by Indians• Girls explained about the significance of the

biodiversity• Then the boys talked about the effects of the

destruction on biodiversity• An d at last was the presentation by myself and Nithya

and we gave a brief account on the biodiversity in Tamilnadu

• And after all this we were divided into 5 groups and were asked to make posters on Biodiversity and they told that the best poster will be awarded

• We were all started doing it and after nearly 1 hour we wee asked to stop and continue it on Monday due to lack of time

• Back to home and had my dinner

17th July 2014(Thursday)• Got up at 6am• Hurried to railway station• Reached the national park Harz• Went in a cable car kind of thing• Walked a bit• We were explained about the park in brief with the help of ppt by

the guide for half and an hour and were separated as two groups• Walked many kilometers up the hills• At last we reached up there and saw an animal Lynx(wild cat) which

was preserved• Then few of them went by bus down the hill• But we all walked down the hill again• We had fun playing in the running river water which was really cold• Back to railway station and then to home

18th July 2014(Friday)• Got up at 6:30 am• Reached the same railway station • Again travelled by bus• Reached the Erlebnis zoo in Hannover• Saw many kinds of animals and birds• Saw shows with birds and animals• We also saw polar bears • Then at evening we all went for shopping in the city• Ate dinner in a restaurant• Back to railway station • From there we all went to An-Christine’s house(shreya

X)• Back to home at 11pm

19th July 2014(Saturday)

• Got up at 6:30 am• Went to the theme park by car with Madhu and

her partner• After 2 and half an hour we reached the theme

park Heidi at 10:30• Enjoyed a lot• Back to home• Went to Aileen’s restaurant and had dinner

20th July 2014(Sunday)

• Free time with my guest family• Went for swimming from 2pm – 5:30pm• Back to home had a special dinner with my host

family(barbeque) • Went for bowling again at 7:30pm• Back to home

21st July 2014(Monday)

• Went to school• Finished our posters• Judged the posters ourselves• Discussed about the question whether the zoos must

exist or not?• And we created points on both the sides negative and

positive• Then we told our own opinions about the zoo• Then we were showed a ppt about the Biodiversity and

then a teaching about the importance of the bees to the earth and the Albert Einstein’s sayings

• If honey bees disappear completely then the humans in the world cannot survive more than 3-4 years after the disappearance of bees

• This is because the bees produce the 1/3rd of the man’s food

• So then we decide to build many bee-hotels on Thursday and we learned how to construct it in the computer lab in pairs

• After this we all went to the buckerburg castle • Back home• Went to the trambaum instrument class at 8pm where

Aileen learns • Back home at 9pm

22nd July 2014 (Tuesday)

• Went to bus stop• Travelled to Steinhuder Meer station• Learnt about different bird species and the

conservation of species• Then went to the beach• Played volleyball for a while • Back home with Dharshan and Moritz• Ate noodles which was cooked by me (spicy)

23rd July 2014(Wednesday)

• Went to the bus stop• Travelled by bus• Reached the city Hamburg• Saw the entire city • Went to restaurant and shopped• Back to Stadthagen (home)

24th July 2014(Thursday)• Went to school• Constructed our bee-hotels in pairs for nearly 2 hour• And few boys renovated the bee-hotel which already

existed in the school• We had class • Then went to my home with Nive and refreshed• Went to Moritz’s house(Dharshan)• From there went to school at 7pm to watch a theatrical

drama acted by the students in which the partners of Nive and Vaishali enacted

• Went back to home at 9pm

25th July 2014(Friday) (The Cultural day)

• Went to school• The final results of our posters were exhibited in the

notice boards• The photographs of us were also projected in the

screen• We were practicing our dance for some time• Prepared for our speech about festivals• Went to attend our class for 90 minutes again which

was sport for me• I was watching my classmates playing volleyball and

rugby• Then back to our room• Went back to home

• Refreshed and changed the dress for the dance• Then went back to school at 3:30 pm with Aileen in sari

and her parents with cooked dishes for the party.• Then waited for my friends• And the main program started with the dinner party

which was filled with the food made by our parents and students

• And then we performed our dance• Then the speeches about the Indian festival by each

and everyone in our traditional dresses• Then a thanking speech by the school principal and our

Padma mam• And then our partners gave us a gift with a T-shirt of

the Wilhelm bush gymnasium and a badge and there was lot of cries in sorrow

• We all then took photographs with partners and a group photo was taken

• Then back to home and refreshed• And we all went to Nicole’s house (Irfan) for a meeting

within the students for a last time in Germany• Then back to home at 11pm

26th July 2014(Saturday)• Got up at 8am and had free time with the family• Went out to the island of Steinhuder Meer with my host

family• Went to insectariums and saw different species of

insects• Went a while in boat to the other side of the island• Ate lunch in restaurant• Walked around and shopped• Met Moritz’s family there and talked awhile• Then went to buy chocolates and candy’s• Went to Joline’s house (Harinee) • Then went back home at 9pm • Packed things• Had a sleep for 4 hours

27th July 2014(Sunday)

• Got ready to leave Germany• Went to Hannover airport at 6:30 am• Took a leave from them with lot of cries…and

started to travel at 8:05am• Reached Frankfurt around 10 am• And came back India at night 1:00 am (Monday)
