Nominating Committee ReportThe Chairman for the Nominating Committee for 2018 is John Boswell. There are two additional Committee Members,
Charlie Harris and Robert (Bob) Billhimer. The 2018 Slate of Board of Directors for the three expiring terms have been
selected and the nominees are:
TERESA CLINGMAN
Teresa J. Clingman was appointed District Attorney of Midland County in August, 2007 after serving Midland as a
prosecutor for over 20 years. Teresa retired as District Attorney of Midland County as of December 31, 2016. She
received her B.A. in Speech Communications/Radio and Television Broadcasting from the University of Oklahoma. She
attended law school obtaining her J.D. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. She has served on the Boards of
many Midland organizations including the Midland Rape Crisis Center and Children’s Advocacy Center, Midland Battered
Women’s Center (Safe Place), Junior Women’s Association, Midland Employees Federal Credit Union and Grace Lutheran
Church and is now also serving on the Crime Stopper’s Board of Directors. She has taught at Midland College as an adjunct
professor and has been a trainer for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Texas since 2006. Teresa has served on the Board
of Directors for My Community Credit Union since April 2010.
STEVE SHOCKLEY
Steve Shockley has served on the MCCU Board of Directors for over 29 years. He currently serves on the ALCO (Asset
Liability Committee) and Executive Loan Committees. Steve has also been a past Chairman of the Board. Originally from
Missouri, Steve currently lives in Houston, Texas with his spouse, Peggy. Their son, Keith, also lives in Houston while their
other son, Ben, lives in Austin. Their daughter, Jamie, her husband, Pat, and their granddaughter, Lily, reside in St. Louis.
Steve is currently self-employed in software development after retiring from a 28 year career in the oil industry. He has a
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla.
GLEN LUFF
Glen is a retired Petroleum Geologist with 58 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma, West Texas and
Southeast New Mexico. He has a Bachelor and Master of Science Degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Certificate
for a one year USAF special course in Meteorology at UCLA. He served in the USAF during the Korean War from 1951-
1955. Glen worked for Atlantic (Refining) Richfield Company (ARCO) for 22 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Roswell, Dallas
and Midland. The next 10 years after ARCO was with A.G. Hill, Dallas Independent, Aminoil, and Coastal Oil and Gas, all in
Midland. Industry downsizing led to opening an office as a consulting geologist in 1988 to a closing in 2014. While with
ARCO, he served as a Loan Officer on the Loan Committee from 1975-78 for Midland Atlantic Federal Credit Union,
predecessor to My Community CU. He became active again with MCCU with the acceptance to the Audit Committee in
2012 and assumed Chair of the Committee in 2013. He was appointed to the Board of Directors to fill a vacancy in 2016
and currently serves both groups.

petition (2) collect signatures from 250 eligible voters and (3) submit the petition request along with

Bylaws or Articles of Incorporation
My Community’s Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation were updated to reflect the addition of Allen
County, Texas to our field of membership. This field of membership expansion was approved by the
Texas Credit Union Department in December of 2017, effective January of 2018.
2018 Scholarship Recipients
Cassi Mebane is a Greenwood High School student graduating this
spring. She has played basketball all four years of high school, as well as being a part of student organizations
such as Interact and NHS. Cassi plans on attending the University of Texas this fall majoring in Biochemistry in
hopes of moving on to dental school upon college graduation.
Julia Sharum is excited to attend Texas A&M University in the fall, where she
will be pursuing her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, and then a Master of Science in
Business. Julia was born in Houston, Texas and has resided in Denver, Tulsa and has loved living in West Texas
for the past 7 years. She has enjoyed playing varsity basketball for Trinity School of Midland, earning
Defensive MVP her Junior and Senior Year. She also enjoyed running cross country. She earned the title of
Trustee Scholar every year through her high school career. She is also actively involved in her church,
spending time singing in the choir and serving as a counselor on retreats. Julia loves giving back to her in her
volunteer work with the Numana Food Kitchen and with the Bynum School Share Program. One of Julia’s
favorite activities involved preparing and leading a Bible Study for young girls. She also helped organize
Hurricane Harvey relief efforts with several of her friends from Trinity School. She loved going on a mission
trip to work with Kids Across America. Julia is very grateful for the generous scholarship she is receiving from
My Community Credit Union. She loves learning and is looking forward to beginning her college adventures.
Isabelle Jimenez attended Grady ISD, a small high school in
Lenorah, Texas where she graduated top of her class. She is currently a freshman at The University of Texas of
the Permian Basin. Isabelle hopes to earn her Master’s Degree in Science of Nursing and become a family
nurse practitioner. For this academic year, Isabelle was elected to represent the nursing department on
UTPB’s Student Senate. Through senate, she was able to experience the joy of giving to her fellow peers and
UTPB as a community. Donating and working blood drives, food banks and university events has helped and
continues to help Isabelle accomplish her dreams. She is excited to represent the department for the 2018-
2019 academic year and will continue to make progress in this community. Isabelle gives all the glory to God
for the many blessings.
Cylie Mebane was raised in Midland, Texas and is the oldest daughter of
four. She graduated in 2017 as the Valedictorian of her class. Cylie is currently a first-year undergraduate
student at Texas Tech University. She is majoring in Finance at the Rawls College of Business, where she
recently made the President’s List. Cylie is also working part time as a law clerk in downtown Lubbock.
Sema’J Davis is currently an undergraduate student at
Abilene Christian University. He will be playing football for Abilene Christian University as a quarterback this
season. Sema’J is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on nursing and hopes to
pursue a career in Sports Medicine or Nursing. He is a 2017 graduate of Midland Lee where he received
several accolades as a student athlete, lettering all 4 years in basketball and named all district. He is a 2 year
letterman in football, named both all district and all academics. Sema’J was a member of the Spanish Honor
Society as well as the National Honor High School Society. He hopes the he can apply and utilize his education
in a field which he is very passionate about – Science. He has been a member of My Community Credit Union
for five years and has had opportunities to participate in some of the community activities provided by the
Credit Union. Sema’J feels truly blessed and grateful for the Scholarship provided to him and would like to
thank the My Community Credit union family for being such a support to him.
Owusu Bafour (Obie) is a senior at the University of Texas of
the Permian Basin. He originally hails from Thana-West Africa but was raised in Toronto-Canada. He is
currently completing a dual degree in Business Marketing and Political Science. Obie served on the UTPB
Student Senate in 2016 as their Public Relations Officer and pioneered lobbying efforts to enhance the
incorporation of internships into the academic curriculum. In 2017, Obie was awarded a competitive
scholarship to participate in the highly selective Bill Archer Fellowship Program in Washington, DC where he
lived while interning with Congressman Andy Biggs at the US Capitol Hill. He also interned with “Innocents at
Risk”, working on humanitarian endeavors geared at curbing child trafficking globally. While living in Canada,
Obie was a realtor specializing in real estate sales and development as well as staying involved with Ghana
Association of Hamilton and Empowered Squared where he hosted events to promote Pan-African unity in the
community. At UTPB, Obie leads a campus based-ministry called “Winners Fellowship” that gathers students
at UTPB and neighboring colleges for worship and prayer. He is eager to influence students to make good
decisions in life and strive for the optimal best in their life and education. After graduation, Obie plans to
attain his Master’s in Business Administration followed by a J.D.
Ashley Raudales is a first-generation high school and college graduate.
She migrated to the United States at the age of 5 and attended school in Midland, Texas. As a child, Ashley
attended Crockett Elementary, Gifted Education of Midland (GEM), and Carver Center. In middle school,
Ashley attended San Jacinto Junior High School and then pursued a challenging education at Early College High
School at Midland College. At the age of 18, Ashley graduated early in the fall of 2017 with both her high
school diploma and a 75 college credit hour associate of science degree. She is currently attending the
University of Texas of the Permian Basin, in which she is studying mechanical engineering, and plans to
graduate in the spring of 2020.
Joseph McClaine is a senior at Midland High School, graduating in the
top 10% of the class. Joseph is a member of the National Honor Society and Academic Letterman 9th-12th
grades. He is President of the MHS robotics Club and team captain for the MHS First Tech Challenge Robotic
team 4906 Junkyard Dawgs in 2017 and 2018. The Robotics Team qualified for Super Regionals in 2016 and
regionals in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Joseph is an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow, the
National Scouting honor society. He serves as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 152. Joseph plans
to attend Texas Tech University and major in Computer Science.
Joseph Barron was born and raised in Midland, Texas by his mother,
Adena Barron. Joseph graduated from Midland High School in 2017. In high school he participated in several
sports; basketball, football and track, but his passion has been for football. Joseph was on the Varsity team for
two years and was named Second team All-District in 2017. He is currently a first-year undergraduate student
at West Texas A&M, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in
Sports and Exercise Science. Joseph is also a member of the West Texas A&M football team as middle
linebacker. Upon graduation, he has a desire to enlist in the Navy to begin his career. Joseph feels blessed
and grateful to be able to continue his education at West Texas A&M and is very thankful to My Community
Credit Union for making this possible as a recipient of this Scholarship.
